There are pictures of this new blaster on the Elfin site, that I need help with the translation though. They call it an MOS blaster. Closest thing I could find was for cosplay props.

It kind of looks like it could be a flare gun, but I am very curious to get more information on it if any body can help.

I think that is an airsoft grenade. The grenade is charged with co2 or another propellant and bb's are loaded in multiple tubes in the front.Fires them all at once in a shotgun effect. They use them in airsoft grenade launchers like M209 or M78.

Thanks for the info Steevy; it adds to the fact that, if you're right, the gun could be an airsoft one?

I'm positive it is an airsoft launcher.Elfin Knights makes 5 pistol model launchers already that you can find in airsoft stores. This one I haven't found yet it might not be out yet.

Thanks for the info guys. I have to admit this is one of the most unique versions of the gun yet.

Just found this thread.

The MOS Blaster is the product of a company called CAW (Craft Apple Works). You can find the company's site here: http://www.caw.co.jp/

The "MOS" in MOS Blaster apparently comes from "MOSCART," which itself comes from "Mosquito Molds" plus "cartridge." The MOSCART is indeed a BB launcher -- according to some reviews, one that renders all others obsolete. You can see more examples of the MOSCART here: http://www.caw.co.jp/mosquito/moscart/index.html

According to the text on the Elfin Knights site, the MOS Blaster takes a "mini MOSCART" and the LEDs do not light up.

Thanks again for the translations temponaut. As much as I would like to collect every version of these guns, I would be at it until I am near 100 years old if I do.

Thanks Temponaut for the info...it seems that Japan is the place to buy airsoft products, or at least products related to the movies we like on this board
Andy, anything is possible; 100 years old...who knows?

Damn. I'll have to keep an eye out for these on redwolf and some other airsoft sites I monitor to see what they charge. CAW is usually pretty pricey. In the $200-$500 range, so I'd expect this to be up there.

It certainly is a unique version of the blaster though. No question about that.

man, would I love to get my hands on one of these. I think I like it more than the Hartford, plus, it would be cheaper to break down and modify hopefully.

The grenade is a 27mm moscart.

They have an 18 + 36 rounder.

I modded my pulse rifle to fire one of these in my grenade launcher.

Here's the latest I could find. Apparently it's still available.

Thread resurrection. Love it.

I too would be interested to know if this one ever came out. Available in the US?

A side thought.....with Japan's strict gun laws, and the USA's very liberal gun laws (comparatively), why is it that the Japanese companies develop all the cool gun replicas and the US doesn't?....and why does it seem sometimes difficult to obtain airsoft replicas from overseas? Paintball's big in the USA, and airsoft is growing, but why do US companies make paintball guns but not airsoft? Weird.

Mostly a rhetorical query, but if anyone has observations to offer, I'd sure like to hear them.

Partially because in the US you can buy the real thing (or at least a real gun) for less than the toy versions from Japan. Wink

To try to avoid turning it into a political thread, and with zero expertise on the subject of Japanese gun laws/culture, I'd say in America if you want to play around with guns, you can get an actual gun. As far as airsoft difficulty, it's because of the prevalence of real guns. Paintball guns generally don't look real. Regardless of whatever you feel about it, enough kids get shot for acting like idiots with realistic looking toy guns while being around cops, and here we are.
