PostPosted: Fri Feb 22, 2013 6:51 pm    Post subject: Why I, Mr Webber left therpf...updated Feb 2017 Reply with quote

After starting a thread on therpf asking if there would be another Star Trek series on TV and how it would be pitched, it quickly became the playground of the usual suspect
thread manipulators and despoilers and I subsequently requested for the thread to be deleted. This request was denied so in good conscience I couldnt remain and requested a
permanant self ban.

The only reason Im writing about it here is because my request to clear up some details involving projects in the works with other members at the rpf before implementing the ban
was also denied and was banned before I could leave the PM section, thanks very much for that Montagar...... By posting here, there is a chance those members will find thier way
here and contact will be resumed and also to let mutual freinds from both boards know what happened.

Massive thanks to all at therpf who expanded my prop experience and knowledge and to those who are incapable of even understanding that, I have nothing but disdain.
Fear not, It doesnt mean I will be flooding this forum with new posts, I only joined therpf is it was very helpful when I started out exploreing props from other movies.
Different story when the new Blade Runner hits the streets though.

Quickly checked back there and as a shining example of the quality of person that made be bail, been on the slab for under an hour and already Wes R walks all over my grave. Rolling Eyes

UPDATE

After years of pointless self imposed exile and with the help of a friend, I approached the staff of therpf to see if I could rejoin the community and they
were gracious enough to allow me back. Very grateful for the opportunity.

Thanks very much for the support J.

You know this replica stuff is a self sustaining beast and will be over the whole thing pretty soon. In any relationship thats gone on too long, its best to end it on your own terms first.

Agreed Baron, there is a tight group of people with great influence at therpf whose only method of contribution is from commenting on others threads,
you will find nothing from them in the creative sections of the forum, their legacy will always be hot air. I see that some posts of mine in the thread, totally inoffensive,
have been censored and or removed. Very Stalinesque.

I was going to contact you here to let you know Im still 100% into your new Lawgiver project, cant wait.

If this is considered poor form, I will remove it but if someone could let Adam C at therpf know that the post in his thread was deeply touching and very much appreciated
and where he can find me, I would be most grateful. This is the first and last time I would ever use this as a message relay service but his post gave some meaning
to all the work I put on display at therpf.

Hi Stefan,

I closed the interest thread because therpf member, Swampdonkey promised me heaven and earth in terms of what he could make for me
but after months, ZIP. So I asked for my deposit back from him, got it and then edited the first post in the thread so my idea wouldnt be just plain stolen,
didnt know they deleted it altogether.

I always have the same deal when I get "special" things made, either a payment for a one off item or I get a free one and the maker can sell as many as he/she wants.
Great method if you just want to add to your collection and not the bank account. This was the arrangment with the flashlights. I still want this project to go
ahead and will try again soon to get it happening using different platforms. If you see them popping up at therpf, then Im getting ripped off.

Tim.

Tim,

Feel free to use the PropShop to sell if needed, or this area to keep in touch with others from the rpf. We are an open community and want people to communicate as they need.

Adam C. Has just joined, so hopefully he will find his way in here.

All my best,

Tom

Totally agree with andy and amish !

I would love to see your next projects, Blade Runner related or not, so don't hesitate to upload them in the Coffee Shop section if needed ! (that's what I did with topics devoted to Children of Men, 2001 : A Space Odyssey, Outland or Dante 01)

Tim !!! You're alive and well! ''Whew!'' What a relief! I follwed the ''trail of bread-crumbs'' that Fred left over at the RPF. (Thanks Fred!) I'm sorry for the way that things went down over there, and I can totally see why you left. It's a damned shame that some people always feel the need to ruin things for everyone else. I'm glad that I found out where you are posting now, so that I can check-out all of your latest efforts.

I second that notion my friend. Keep up the great work Tim! (And on a side-note...Hi micdavis! It's great to see you here too! The RPF just hasn't been the same without your patented brand of...um...well...YOU!)
