Gavin Rothery, Art Director on Duncan Jones' MOON, has directed his first solo film... It's a short...

Can't wait to see what this post-Apocalyptic film is about ! (Survival, OK, but what else ?)

Cool

Fred

TFS Fred...yes, very interesting indeed; very Moebius gear (and aircraft carrier stuff worn by the "rattle-snakes" on deck Wink )

You're very welcome mates !

BTW it looks like it's going to be a short, not a full length film... Anyhow a new photo showing the costume from another angle surfaced on Gav's Twitter account a few days ago...

Looks promising !

Cool

TFS Fred, looks promising indeed even if the costume seems created with various find pieces (it seems they did a razzia of a military surplus)...

Yep, low budgets often rely on military surplus... That was also the case with Caro & Jeunet's first film, Le Bunker de la dernière rafale (Bunker of the last gunshot), and it gave great results in the end !

I had to smile at that title Fred: ''Le Bunker de la dernière rafale)...reminded me of the title of an Edouard Detaille painting titled : ''La maison des dernières cartouches'' (Franco-Prussian war of 1870/71). Wink

Oh yes JB, this canvas is displayed in the Orsay Museum in Paris... I love it too !

BTW a new pic surfaced on Gavin's site... Looks like it's almost completed...

Cool

Fred

Gav recently granted me access to his film via a private link...

I'll post pictures and info with his permission soon, all I can say for now is that I was BLOWN AWAY by the visuals, soundtrack, editing, music, etc !!!

I hope this film will give him access to a director chair on a full length film because, from what I saw on THE LAST MAN, Gav really deserves it !

OK, stay tuned, more soon I hope !

Cool

Fred

So far so good. CGI is subtle, ambiance is great and those binoculars "à la StarWars" are selling points for sure (loved it when the lens focuses on those binocs) Cool

TFS Fred!
