The board was down for awhile so I'm not sure this news got out. Yes indeed there is a new version of the PRO coming: "Retailer Edition"

http://tenshu53.exblog.jp/18285840/

I don't know any more details than that, but it does seem from the translation that they are going to focus more on international sales this time.

More as this story develops.

Is there a 12-step program for people like me who just keep wanting new variants on this gun? Laughing

I'm perfectly happy with my built-up kit but will be interested to see photos of the new edition. Especially since each new release seems to have slight differences in details.

Ted.

Tomenosuke teases some new blueing by Nobu-san... matching the plastic to the metal.

In his blog does he mention his exact recipe for the paint? And what kind of bluing did he use?

I must know.

Hi folks. Nobu-san, the gun master at Tomenosuke, has generously allowed me to share his web album showing how he did the blueing of metal and plastic with such fine results.

Some folks on RPF speculated that Nobu-san was spraying the plastic parts with a zinc paint to prep them for sanding, but in fact Nobu confirms that he does NOT use this zinc spray. The plastic itself contains zinc!

I was wondering that. It does look like it is cold cast with metal in it. If you scratch it it looks metallic. I had no idea that it was that thoroughly filled though. That is awesome. This kit really is something special. Of course this also means there is so much room for variation now, that I need more of them to do different versions. Shocked

My reaction is that is not correct.

The Bulldog and barrel and triggers and Steyr receiver all were bare steel.

Other than that it is a great finish.

Birchwood Casey is the stuff...you just have to be patient andgo over the work several times until you get the finish you want! They have some great how to videos on YouTube! I recommend that anyone bluing metal watch their videos...they are very helpful!!! Cheers!
