Its hard to get a clear picture through the on-line translator but does this latest post indicate yet another limited number variant?

When I used the Google translator on the Japanese writing on that page, it was a bit garbled in English. Some of it said...
"......custom, but outlook is with finally.
I think it is scheduled to bluing and silver, both a limited production of each 5-10 Ting about, but trying to Itadako to announce at a later date for more information....."
I wonder what that means
...umm maybe they will be doing a special, very limited production of the silver versions with 'clear grip' and some special blued versions in limited 5 -10 edition ???? |

Sounds like they will be doing a limited runs of ones with an "Ultimate Finish". Blued and silver (with clear grips). 5 to 10 of each perhaps? All hand finished by their expert craftsmen. At least that is what it seems like. I am sure not cheap, but sounds awesome.

I asked a Japanese customer of mine to help translate.
He said: "It's just them showing you what extreme finishes you are capable
of archiving. With there kit." And, a link to the guy that did the finish on
that kit. If you want to hire him?
Some talk of considering a pre-blued reviver originally. But the cost was
already hire then they had wanted. 500 to 1000 more yen?
"The clear grips were the prototypes so they could see better the frame,
and placement." and were extras given out to the first few
lucky dogs that bought the kit in person at Hollywood Japan.
Whether or not more will be made available (multi-colored grips) it under
consideration.
A few tips & tricks. Nothing about another version. Bummer..... I know! _________________ Que la Force soit avec toi |

Do a search on youtube. Someone has theirs blued to a mirror-like finish. I'm seriously considering getting mine blued by the same guys that blued my Solo blaster. I just don't know if I can bear having it out of my sight for 4-6 weeks. lol |

Thanks Staar for sharing the news and Oz for the translation.
It's looking mighty good for sure; if I had one, I wouldn't mind a finish like this |

Proper deep shiny bluing is what I'm after, too.
Any folks to recommend? |

There's a gun bluing kit out there that is simple, easy to use and affordable...just got to a hunting store and look for it...its by a company called Birchwood Casey...I haven't used it myself yet but I have some on the way for my off world modification... |

What kind of metal is the Tomenosuke Steyr receiver? If polished properly could I expect the same blued effect you'd get with carbon steel? |

I'm not sure!?! I don't have one myself...YET...but if the Birchwood Casey formula can work on it than I'm going totry it out when I get mine. There's a video on YouTube about the bluing kit that I saw while I was looking for tips on how to blue gun metal and other types of metals!?! Seemed pretty simple and its very affordable! I found it on EBay for under $30!!!!
Seems like people are bluing theirs up so I don't see why this stuff wouldn't work on the their kits!?! However, I would personally try a test run or,as you are trying to do...find out the type of metal and see if their stuff works on it! Hope this helps everyone with bluing their blasters a little more easily!???
Cheers! |

This is one I helped a buddy w/.
I used BC alum.Black & lots of patience.
First I step sanded the receiver. fine emery cloth, 400 wet, 800 wet 1500 wet.
applied the Alum-blk w/ extra fine scotch brite. kind of lightly rubbing it in.
let it sit over night. (did not rinse it) It turned dark brown w/ a dull finish.
then little by little, I applied a small amount of UN-diluded. Alum-blk to a
lint free cloth & rubbed hard until It turned this semi-gloss blue.
I did small sections at a time. until the whole thing was done.
When I was pleased. I again let it sit over night w/out rinsing it.
The next day, I washed it w/ soap & water.
He wanted the version like the inset photo. The dude at the gun store, told
me how to do it. It takes a while. But when your done.... WoW!

looks great!thanks for the tutorial i was worried applying the black like this would give a patchy finish. How much did you apply to the cloth on the first coat? Was it enough to cover most of the receiver? _________________ "F*ck it, it's just a movie. Let him worry about it" Harrison Ford |

Das: It's not mine. I did it for a friend. But it's done, he didn't want the
barrel blue. Going off the WC photos, he's convinced they were not the
same color.
Beast: The first coat is applied w/ an ultra fine scotch bright pad. I used
just enough to get an even cost over the whole receiver. _________________ Que la Force soit avec toi |
