This is a great build Isnochys79.
It gets better and better with each up date. Credit too to Starrigger for supplying his excellent plans.
I agree with what Fred wrote
Quote: | It looks more and more like an Art Department maquette... |
I also agree with this from Fred
Quote: | (I just hope you're not going to paint it in the end, it looks very good like this) |
It will be interesting to see how you are going to paint it and detail it.
I look forward to the next instalment.

For what it's worth, a shot of a set of rear bridge platform steps. At first I thought this was the corridor from the Galley, but on second look, it appears to be the corridor from the port side. At any rate, hope it helps.

Oh thank you Colin, I look forward too
Same conclusion FenGiddel86, the steps are only on the sides.
Starrigger plans this way... In Starriger I believe |

Wow! Now it's getting really serious in here Are you going to do removable ceiling panels to have easy access to the main area (to take pics for example?) |

Nah just an old trick of movie making. I'm sure that when Ridley shot on the Nostromo set, quite a few things were removed to have a better way to block a scene (btw, the walls were solid and an integral part of the set). |

Really interested to see this as it develops! Looks the business so far. Really like how you've achieved the look of the individual stations.
Ace stuff! _________________ I'd love to build big models, sadly I'd need to knock a few walls down first. |

Thank you Noddy 4000, individual stations get some details now.
Rear "table" almost completed as it seems to have a plexy top.
I will need to cut it from a plastic box when I will find the good one.
All com boxes now assembled.
At first I didn't think about making ceiling and walls... but
it seems now inevitable for a better "atmosphere" of the bridge...

Me too Joberg , that's why I will post one more update I think and then will come back here with the completed job (or almost completed).
At the moment , I am unable to figure out the time I need for the final result but I will do my best to present you a decent cardboard model. |

Thank you Joberg and sith_fire30 (sith, your incredible work encourage me to do my best on this project
Now working on different parts at the same time : upper panels, grid (second photo)...
(One of the fun thing working on this model is that even after numerous viewing of the movie, I still discover new aspect of this fantastic bridge.
For example I had to estimate the Ash's upper panel height. In the opening shot of the bridge, it's very low (close to main panels) but while approaching the planet, it 's clearly higher. I cannot imagine a mistake but rather an intellignet design of an adjustable panel )
...designing one of the access to the bridge, thank to a very good POV photo from the corridor set...
... I use this design for the mess access too. Mother access has a different design.
BTW does anyone have a higher resolution of this view from the rear of the bridge ?

I can already feel the claustrophobic aspect of the bridge...and yes, you're right when you say that you're discovering details again and again; that's what happens when you go into details Keep going, it's looking great. |

Maybe the seat is on the same set-up than the ones at the White Dragon noodle bar in Blade Runner? |

I found this link to the thumbnail you're looking for, but cannot find an email address on the web page to get in touch to see if there might be a larger version:

It may be where you found the one you posted here...

This is such a treat. It's like we're looking at the preproduction phase of Alien's development! I love to think about how these talented folks were able to sit down and draft schematics for such a convoluted set completely out of thin air. Nothing like it had been attempted in science fiction before after all. |
