You may or may not have seen this on ebay a few weeks back,..

NO bids except mine.

I added this to my collection more for the historical value than it's accuracy.

Oz Shop A Japanese hobby company that,...
May have made the first production model replica of the gun from scratch.
Started a garage industry for some,..
or an obsession for many,..
Blessing or curse? you decide.
“no choice pal,.... “

When I received this kit, I decided to finish it with minimal clean up or modifications.
I did NOT fill in all the pin holes or correct the slight curvature to the body (you can see this on some of the photo's due to lens distortion)

This is a 12 piece kit. NOT the original version with electronics.

It is solid resin NO moving parts. Most likely an early re cast.

I have added a thin plastic to the grip frame in order to differentiate it from the grips.
Changed the site to the button screw and added the top screws along the upper receiver. Also the screws at the front of the receiver. That's it on up grades.

It has been panted with a light gray aircraft white prior to painting.

The resin seems to react to enamels in that they stay slightly tacky after handling for a few minutes. Solved this by using acrylic and a brush to apply the paint scheme.
I was going to use rattle can paint. (not so much)

The paint chart that came with the kit was original and is pretty accurate as far as the known look was for the time.

I chose to use a more modern interpretation along the lines of the Tomensuke style look as opposed to the Coylel look as it makes some of the inaccuracies less apparent.
One being the ejection port not painted steel as it is really large and becomes TOO dominant visually.
On the grips, I did not go for a wood grain style, just trying to give an over all representation of the amber grips.

Over all this version is accurate (considering it was created using VHS shots for reference) in that most of the parts we have all come to love are there.
Altho they are NOT close in size or shape in some arias. This is a LARGE blaster. I have 2 shots with it next to a Coyle Blaster for comparison.

It was a fun build in that it's quick and easy.
ENjoy! ( I can't find the tutorial on HOW to show pics, saw it a few weeks ago) SO,...

These are how It arived:

I did a article in the first issue of my racprops.com about the early Blade Runner models.

It is somewhat lost but here are the pictures:

SORRY, I just relished that the model you got may be a recasted copy of the OZ Shop model that was partly put together before it was remolded.

As you can see from the pictures I took of a real OZ Shop kit it was in more parts that the yours.

Unless OZ made the model simpler for later sales.

Rich is correct. It is a copy and likely a Comet Miniatures or Marco Enterprises version. I have the same one Rich is showing the pictures of. It comes in a lot of smaller parts, and very cleanly cast in black resin. Mine also had cut up pieces of foam rubber in the box and an original thinking cap company patch. I tossed the foam rubber because it was disintegrating and sticking to everything.

Nice build though. It looks great, and love the comparison shots too.

Also note that the grip's grid texture is missing on his version.

Great feed back!

Rich, your info shots are way cool! As I suspect, this IS a re cast most likely.

No checkering on the grips, also the ammo plate cover seems closest to the OZ shop but IS slightly different. Any way here are some new shots.
