I'm considering a run of holsters for the 'Hartford' blaster.
Would anyone be interested?

The Hartford is very similar to the Offword (or the other way around), so I think they should fit both. But not 100% sure.

I agree, they are very close if not identical in size in the receiver.
Can anyone confirm?

I have both and measured them here...

The Hartford might be a tad bigger, but I know that many of the parts are interchangeable. The offworld copied directly many of the offworld parts. they both used 38s as the center revolver, but the Hartford was a S&W. the main difference was in the length of the grip, but they were very close in many ways. The early resin Offworld may have shrunk in castins and influenced the slight size discrepancy. I can measure any part you need though.

Hi Andy,
Thanks for that.
Which is the larger of the two?
If I was to make a holster for both models, it would be a scaled down version of the Deckard, but without the internal spring.

The Hartford is about an 1/8th of an inch longer in both barrel and grip. The other dimensions seem to be much closer. I will try to dig them out later along with my micrometer, so if there is any particular dimensions you need let me know.

Not really, I just need the dimensions of the biggest of the two. In particular:
Receiver total length,
Receiver width,
Receiver height, top to bottom of ammo clip housing.
Width across the cylinder covers/housings,
This is very helpful, thank you Andy.

Receiver total length, H=182.5mm. OW=180.5mm including end caps on both ends
Receiver width, H=28.5mm, OW=28.5mm
Receiver height, top to bottom of ammo clip housing. H=59.5mm, OW=59.5mm
Width across the cylinder covers/housings, H=51.5mm, OW=49mm at widest point including the lever.
Hope this helps,
Andy |

That's great Andy, thank you.
This is really useful.
I was thinking of a holster designed in the Deckard style, but with no internal spring to damage the blaster.
Instead, a black leather belly panel across the holster's open front. This will allow the blaster to be drawn through the open top, but stop it falling out.
Anyone got any thoughts?
