I have this edition. It was printed a few years back. maybe they will be doing a #2. This one has information about the Elfin Knights blaster kit and a history of Blasters made by him and others, including Rick Ross, Richard Coyle, and sidkit. Similar to the Spinner Dokuhon.

Is it worth the $20 bucks and probably expensive shipping?
Thanks |

The one I have I may have paid more for, but it really is a labor of love by one of the longest running Blade Runner collectors and prop makers, Ryosuke Takagi. He is kind of Richard Coyle, Rick Ross, and Adam Savage combined with many of us here. An artist and true lover of this film and prop. Considering my interests here, it is kind of meant for me. The shipping on HLJ is also usually very reasonable, but the book is also mainly in Japanese. It is probably only worth it though for the hardcore collectors and information hogs like me.
It doesn't contain any information on the hero gun itself, but rather the replicas, especially many from Japan I have never seen and Ryosuke Takagi's own variations he made over the years since 1984, only a couple years after the film. It also has Rich's and Rick's guns, as well as Sidkit and the Offworld mentioned. It also devotes a couple pages to holsters, and the Zospec Armory parts for the Hartfords, as well a pics of Guns that seem inspired by it. It was printed in 2008 from what I can see with my copy, and has 46 pages all in Black and White, except the cover and first couple pages with pictures of his kit that he made back then.
A must have for serious collectors mainly. I personally really hope a second issue shows up.

I have one as well and do wish it was done in a English version.
Lots of interesting pictures of lots of odd models.

Just ran across Book 2, offered on Hobby Link.
While interesting, I must agree with Andy, the first issue is for the true fan of the blaster replicas and their history, showing the various models offered through the earlier years before Richard and Phil concluded their investigations culminating with what we now know as the WorldCon Model discovered by Karl Tate. Volume 1 features color photos of the more common variations and a couple I had never seen, but all text is in Japanese. Unfortunately several of those images are reproduced here only in one color.
I am curious to know if this new issue is the same, perhaps in english or includes new information not shown in the first issue(?) Or is it some variation of the first run, retitled or perhaps in full color. Other than a different cover and the words "Vol.2 The Second Number", only a rather generic description is offered on hlj.com.
Anyone here know anything further on this new volume?

I just got the second volume and I'm not that happy with it. I was waiting for more pictures in high res from the auction. Most are clearly pixelated, plus there's a comic strip taking many pages. I guess I was excepting something more technical and less "creative". |

Awesome news!
I look forward to your translation. I have both volumes but will take whatever translations I can get.
Have a better one.
