With Rick onboard, I can't think of a better combination to pull this off to near perfection. Both Shawn and Rick's efforts in the past (and present) have been incredible - that Mr. Mead might be involved in designing his blaster's yet unseen side is more than could have been hoped for.

No one responded to my earlier inquiry, probably due to that fact there was no news . . .

But as Shawn reported here back in September, now a new TESTED.COM video on YouTube has verified the release, featuring the soon-to-be-released(?) futuristic Blade Runner Blaster as originally conceived by our favorite futurist, Syd Mead.

While Shawn did an amazing job recreating his version several years ago (obviously a major catalyst in bringing this new upgraded version to the market), his was limited by the one-sided view of Mr. Mead's original pre-production sketch. Now, the new version he mentioned here in September is becoming reality as a full-blown "functioning" prop from CHRONICLE, thanks to Rick Ross and Shawn's efforts, and new input from Mr. Mead.

While mixed in with comments on their other products, for those who have not yet seen this report from SDCC - and for those of us who have - watch it again, here:

Finally something new from the Blade Runner Universe . . .

From the look of Adam Savage's, I still want to see one made in chrome...even if it is only a very limited edition. Chrome certainly doesn't look good though, unless the surface is absolutely perfect.

I like chrome (yes...surface finishes and edges should be very neat and clean). I prefer a lower sheen, satin chrome finish.

I have always been put off by shiny mirror finished guns. I've seen a lot of them, own one, and own a few replicas that have been chromed. It's just not my taste.

That said, I'd love a chrome version of this one.

But honestly I just want one. Any finish. Just want one!

It's a must to have in any BR collection! I like both the brushed alu or the chrome one.
