Hi all,

I've been meaning to upgrade my Blade Runner prop display, and could think of nothing more appropriate than the Chinese display cabinet behind Rachel:

Has this ever been identified, or something close found? If not, I might buy a conventional glass cabinet and redo the shelving to match the photo.

Any insight would be appreciated!

I'm sure if you went looking here you might find something suitable.

Those are still being made...The model in the movie is fairly easy to find (with or without glass doors). If you have a Chinese furniture store/Import you might hit the jackpot Wink

Thanks for the tips, guys!

I've done these very searches before, sometimes swapping the words "display cabinet" with "curio," and I get close, but never a match. Guess I'll just have to keep looking.

Damn, the ones that even approach the style and size of the screen-used curio are all in the $1,000 - $4,000 range.

Looks like I'll be making this myself or commissioning it out to a custom cabinet maker one of these days...

When you find the right model/design, take lots of pics as to be able to build it later. If you can find a cabinet maker that'll do that piece of furniture for a $ 1000 you'll be lucky Wink

If I have to pay $1,000 or more for a "close to" cabinet, I might as well spend that money on one that's screen-accurate. I'll see if I can use Sketchup to design it.
