Oh well... I was a bit reluctant to post the graphics here because I took it directly of the Alien Anthology, and you know, copyright and all that...

But here is a first rough edit of the graphics seen on the VK Very Happy It needs more work, but you get the idea....

That's awesome. I still haven't checked out much of the extras stuff with the Quadrilogy. When I mentioned the Alien movie, it was just as part of the background scenery,
didn't know the full graphic was there.

There's a long sequence on the last disc with only screen graphics used in ALIE.. Some of them are unbelievably awesome, and would look amazing on the screens of the VK too Very Happy

I already got one Raspberry Pi and the large screen... Still need some power supplies for it all and to figure out which cables go where.... It'll be so cool to get it all together and watch your eye footage on it, Tim Very Happy

Looking forward to seeing your screen Anders.

I can see your logic now in starting with the screens if you want to make it work.

I've been tinkering with my VK plans. I may post some images when I feel I've made sufficient progress.

Lets hope Joberg's request of more VK info turns up some new info.

However looking back through the reference thread we've already got some good stuff.

I'm hoping for more info of course. Anders: your screens are looking A+

Besides the lack of clear measurements, I always wondered what kind of graphics was on that half wheel at the bottom left hand side Confused

I would really love som info on that one as well!!

But! One trillion questions later, and one tiny step forward.... I present to you this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RkhL2zf4Yc8

Well... Not impressive, I know, but this is a slow process. I thought it would be difficult to get the display to work, but as it turns out that was a piece of cake.... Getting the Raspberry Pi to work, well... That's another story! Damn thing won't even boot Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad[/url]

That looks great.

I take it you got the Pi to work in the end?

Is that your large screen in the video?

Have you found smaller ones for the two smaller monitors yet?

Good stuff, I look forward to seeing more.

Colin

No, the Pi is still acting weird, think it's the SD-card, it bought one where it's supposed to have the operative system preinstalled, but I can't acces it at all... Asked the seller for a new one... Still pending... Unfortunately patience is not one of my virtues. The video was a test run of the screen with my blu-ray player...

This is the large screen yes, it's approximately 7"s. I know it's too wide... But it works and looks great and is super easy to work with... It's this one:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Tontec®-Display-Raspberry-AT070TN92-Controller/dp/B00G60FJNG/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1425735953&sr=8-3&keywords=7%22+screen+raspberry+pi

I have something in mind for the small screens, but I need to be absolutely sure that everything works with the big screen before buying more Very Happy Was thinking about something like this:

True.... And every detail needs to be thought through again and again and again... But I'm not giving up... Yet Wink

Should have done this ages ago, converted the eye footage to HD and posted it to youtube....

Various methods of extracting it can be easily found for those who can use it. It has aged a little though.

That is looking really good, thanks for sharing! Got your PM, thanks for that also... I too love the static noise on the screen, gives it that vintage feel I'm after Cool

Another tiny step forward Very Happy

I've made the prototype (foam core) frame for the screen on the front panel of the VK and tested it with LEDs and screen... Think it looks quite ok. Going to cast the frames in resin later.

Measurements are off, but you know, I have a pragmatic approach to this project. Let's what's possible and how far I can get...

I've inserted the LED bar the wrong way on the test video... Oh well, baby steps!

I'm currently also working on a vacuum former Very Happy Should be quite easy to build, and the ones you can buy online are too expensive..

Here's some pictures and a new video...
