This place needs a kick in the ass. Therefore, I am proposing a members-only project to reproduce my set of authentic production-created business cards from American Psycho.

They're beautiful, aren't they? Please post here to indicate your interest, and as we progress, I will provide more details.

John

Thanks for offering these, John. It's a great idea. Wish I'd thought of it.

Mark me down on the interested list.

Definitely interested in multiples of all designs!

You're right, this should give a little heart-starter to this place!

I just read some of the amusing banter over at the RPF.

For the record, I'm cool with others doing their own thing, whether for personal use or commercial gain. I don't care if there's any competition and, for that matter, if others find my photographic reference useful, I'm happy to help.

This is an old school exercise for me in having fun and giving a little back. I'm not basing my hopes for my daughter's college tuition on this run. If we make a few bucks, that's just gravy on the rump roast.

So to any drama queens out there feigning trepidation over my wrath, please take solace.

Hyphen the Great and Terrible has elected to spare you this time....

Hi,

I would be interested in copies of these depending on the usual price, materials, quality etc

Do you have a time scale on this or is it dependent on interest levels?

Very generous of you to share these excellent pieces Smile .

Cheers Chris.

I have to send my original cards to the guy who's reproducing them for me this weekend. Once he has them, he will let me know about timing, etc.

Update: My guy has three of the five cards set up for print. I'm getting excited!

Price and display options will be forthcoming.

Spread the word. Soon the hobby will have screen-accurate American Psycho business cards reproduced from an intense, up-close study of an authentic set.

Update: My guy showed the proofs, and the cards look terrific. He spent many hours studying super hi-res scans of my originals to nail down the fonts. One he had to redraw himself. This guy is a scary talented graphic artist and meticulous about getting these done right.

A couple of interesting points:

--We decided not to go with the tell I originally planned; i.e., adding the "c" in "Aquisitions" to make it correctly spelled. We decided to leave everything as is and instead put a microscopic tell in that you can only see at around 1600% zoom. To the naked eye, these will look like my originals.

--We decided to include with every set a small set of personalized Pierce & Pierce business cards with the customer's name. Details TBD.

We're getting closer....

John

Any news on the cards? That would be a great addition! Slightly OT, but I thought the scene in to movie was far too brief, the book made him sound so much more insane. The entire chapter was him stewing over the other guys' cards. The movie scene came across as being a little more of a tongue-in-cheek 80's yuppie joke.
