Yeah, I see the numbers. I'm just like "There are numbers on the mag housing?" I had not seen or discussed this detail before.

Regardless, this newest hand-polished version is, as far as I'm concerned, the gun as it appeared to me on celluloid in 1982 and in the countless subsequent VHS viewings.

... and it is the pistol version I always wanted.

I'm glad Nobu-San is taking his time to do each one right. It'll be worth the wait.

Is it just me, or does the blued barrel looks very dark? I expected it a more metal-colored finishing on the barrel, so it resembles the hero blaster more.

I now have a Tomenosuke Retail blaster, and although the build, fit and finishing are flawless, I regret only two things:
1. That the green leds don't light up
2. The black finishing of the barrel

I also own a Coyle blaster, and although the fit and finishing of a Coyle blaster is more "artisan", the overall appearance of the blaster is closer to the hero blaster, due to the metal-colored barrel...

Just my two cents...

As it should be.

Funny how only the KIT version allow for the correct colors as all the metal parts come "bare" and you then can paint or blu as you wish.

But then the "bare" metal its self is TOO silver (like my pewter) and thus needs a touch of black to look like raw steel.

Pewter allows adding that touch of black to get the steel look, I do not have any idea how to blacken the kit metal.

Alright, let me put it another way.
"I am imagining this is the way it looked in this photo."

I'm sure someone can explain the origin of this picture.

Sure they are TOO DARK.

Lighten them up a little and you can plainly see that the painted black parts are much blacker than the dull Steel parts like the receiver.

In face I believe Phasepistol showed one lighten up in his three shots of the blaster as "1981".

It was NEVER Blued in any shot of the prop, it was always raw steel.

AND it is always that way in every shot of the film and all stills.

Also note the wire going from the grub screw on the mag housing.
