Hi Guys
Having been a fan of Blade Runner since its release in '82, I have visited PropSummit often, but only recently joined. Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I am an independent film maker in the UK and I am currently producing a film called Blade Hunter and as you can guess, YES it similar to Blade Runner. It stars Michael Madsen, Bai Ling, Daryl Hannah, Sylvester McCoy, Patrick Bergin, Lysette Anthony among others. I have already shot 60% of the movie and in March I intend to shoot the rest in London, LA and New York. For more information please visit my website at www.BHmovie.club but my reason to reach out to you is to see if there is anyone that can help me with Blade Runner style props. I am looking for everything Blade Runner. I am willing to place each and everyone of your names that is active on Propsummit on the credits and the BH website as a contributor/supporter. Please take a look at the trailer which will be on the website from Dec 11th. So if your interested in being involved please contact me through Propsummit or directly at the Blade Hunter website.
Many thanks and I look forward to hear from you. But don't forget to mention where you got the call as everybody from Propsummit gets a free entry into the "Secret World of Blade Hunter" website that contacts us and helps.
Richard Driscoll
Producer & Director of Blade Hunter

How on earth did you get the rights to do this???

I would be very hesitant to contribute to this project....

Those articles are interesting reading...

To all you people with more time on their hands to just criticize such as our friend Skin Job who hides behind an alias should take a look at the trailer on the website www.BHmovie.club before they make a comment. Remember not everything is black & white and things written in newspapers or on blog pages can be wrong in some degree. Sometimes people take 2x2 and add it up to 5. Nobody was asking anybody on this site to contribute. I came to Propsummit because I thought I was dealing with Blade Runner fans. The option to be involved is up to the individual. If anybody is interested they know where they can contact me. I don't need to hide behind alias I always sign my name at the bottom of each blog I write.

Mr. Driscoll, with all due respect, I am sure that you may be able to understand the reaction from a group of people that are amongst the more enthusiastic of the die-hard Blade Runner fans, especially given the articles that were posted above. Speaking only for myself, I'm curious as to how you got the rights to produce this film, especially considering the timing of the Ridley Scott produced sequel that is about to begin filming.

These are honest questions, as the concept of this film seems to go far beyond what would be considered a "fan film" in both scope and intellectual property considerations.

The original film is precious to us and we've read the reports on a sequel, that will cost many tens of millions to make, with great scrutiny. So a crowdfunded film should AT LEAST expect the same scrutiny, if not more.

A reply to Nexus 7. If you take a look at the Blade Hunter website it will clearly show that the film is not a fan film or linked to a BR sequel in anyway. It is a story of a graphic novelist who writes about a similar dystopian world to BR and the effect it has on him. The film is 60% completed and as a taster to what is to come I have put together a trailer. Which can be seen on the website www.BHmovie.club Any other questions would be answered by entering “The Secret World of Blade Hunter” which is also located on the website. I invite all other like minded fans to be involved if they so wish.

For the record, I hide nowhere, I'm easy to find.
Unless you are denying you are the Richard Driscoll in the articles, then
putting the 2 of your name and reputation, together with the 2 of your being jailed for VAT fraud we come up with the 4 that is; don't get involved with you or your project.
The UK film industry is a very small place and you are well known Richard.

You may abuse me and my character here however you wish, but my aim was to warn the community. Job done.

For the record, if this topic slide more into that "type of discussion", it should be moved to the Pit Rolling Eyes
