Posted: Tue Jul 05, 2016 7:06 pm Post subject: Steyr SL Scope Base Screw Size |
|
|
I'm in the midst on working on my shooter using a real Steyr SL receiver. Both the receivers I am working on came without the screws for the pre-drilled and tapped holes on top where you would normally attach scope bases. I cannot find any replacement screws and I cannot seem to find out what the specs are for those screws.
The prop had 3 out of the four in place on top of the receiver, the fourth hole had a buttonhole allen screw.
I've tried Steyr dealers, the Steyrclub website, etc. Any help appreciated. |

Definitely metric. I am pretty sure it is a standard pitch.

Basically has anything metric you might need. |

2.5mm length or 3mm length should work also as there is a lot of room for that grub screw to travel down. |

Called and no go.
They do have a 4 X 4 MM allen head screw..so perhaps we can grind off the head and then slot it our self's??
Other wise the search goes on.
Also they can special order it, but it will be for 100 screws.

i think even 4mm length could work. the stock grub screw is so short and there is a ton of metal on that receiver to be able to hold a scope mount. |
