Sounds good . The nice thing is with Fusion 360 being
a cloud we can interchange files and see what works best.

They're here! Definitely in need of some digital rehab. There's some clear coat on them that's not applied very evenly, couple of chips, and the checkering is worn down.

Time to get this project going again Very Happy

Life has been keeping me too busy for props lately. I switched jobs, and lost access to all my tools... and my girlfriend said between us, the dogs, and our cats we absolutely can't have a lathe and a mill in our 1 bedroom apt Embarassed

So I had to pack things up. It was pretty depressing honestly, just seeing all my projects in boxes : / But all that may soon be changing... because for the first time in my life I HAVE A SHOP.

Lord knows why I decided to sign the lease the same week I paid taxes (SUPER broke right now lol), but over the next few months it should start to look like something. Sadly there's kind of an iron drought in Southern California. Mills and lathes go for a premium down here, where in the Mid-West and East Coast you can pick them up readily. But I digress... VERY excited to get back to work soon!

That isn't just a shop, that is a SHOP! Damn the jealousy is real right now.

If it makes you feel any better, I'm in the northeast and have an awesome Southbend Heavy 10 and a decent Bridgeport that I haven't been able to do squat with since last September because even if the space I've squeezed them into wasn't just barely large enough for them both, it's also been humid as hell all winter and the garage is totally uninsulated (it's still averaging around 30 degrees here in late April... not exactly blastersmithing weather).

Looking at these pictures I think I might have done things in the wrong order...

Nice place. Just don't let the view distract you from the business at hand... Laughing

Thanks guys! It's something I've always wanted to do, but could never really sort out logistically. I ran into a friend I hadn't seen in a while, though, and it turned out that he was looking for a similar setup. So our powers combined, etc. etc. It's been a pretty creatively frustrating couple of years for me (going on ten now if I'm being honest), and I'll only really be able to get in here on nights and weekends, but I can't express how excited I am to have room get messy. My apt is only 600 ft^2 and I have two dogs, two cats, and another person... x_x

It's a view of skid row, so not quite as enchanting as it could be Razz

Can't wait to see what you do with your shop man, and to continue to see your gun come together!

I'm still alive! This year has not really panned out like I thought it would. The shop didn't work out, and I actually had to let it go. Bled me dry, and I'm only just now really getting back to a decent stable place. Good news is I'm not bankrupt Very Happy Bad news is, no real progress on anything.

I took a commission recently that's been pretty energizing.

Annnnnd I found another space, closer to my apartment which will hopefully work out. It's smaller. But will hopefully be easier to swing with my work schedule which really monopolizes my time.

I don't want to jinx anything, but fingers crossed that 2019 will make room for a lot of the stuff I was hoping to get done in 2018.
