I'm just going to leave these photos here. Needless to say VERY excited to see the return of a familiar prop...

Andy, since this is is the original hero blaster from Blade Runner, but now appearing in a new movie with new producers that may not ask zillions for licenses there's a chance we'll finally get a fully official Deackrd Blaster. I'm crossing fingers here... |

I really like this staged photo; Love the blasters, old & new along with a matched glass!

Deck, no Dan didn't lend it to them (although he did offer). The production team came and inspected and photographed his original but respectfully declined his offer due to the sheer value of the piece.
They went off and made a few (new) versions of the old PKD for production. _________________

Anyone else see a matt black trigger guard on the trailer model?
The publicity shot model clearly isn't. You can see the butt plate in the trailer and its giving off a light shine but the guard doesn't even after moving through a lighting and focus phase, same with
the barrel end.

It's just the lighting in that shot. The other pic shows a better sheen. |

Normally I would think that as well but the sheen on the trigger guard on the bar model is brighter than its butt plate yet the sheen on the butt plate is visible on the trailer model but not its
guard while virtually occupying the same space.
Only bring it up as its been reported that several models of Deckards blaster were made and one might have been different for close ups or something like that. Like the walkie talkie Han`s
Gruber used in Die Hard was the only one not to have the Kenwood sticker on the back as there were lots of extreme close ups. _________________ Formerly offworld66 |

Thank you Starr for the info.
Fascinating as I really thought I was looking at the original blaster, particularly in that staged photo. From what I can tell, those grips look excellent NOT what I was expecting from a Tomenosuke. I really like that they have re-created the paint job on the grip frame. Perhaps they made their own grips?
It would be awesome to find out from the prop department what they did. |
