I've started this thread just to keep a pictorial archive of props I've owned and now parted with, in addition to new acquisitions.

I think the thrill is sometimes in the hunt but there are some signature pieces that I doubt I'll ever sell.

To begin with, this is the home-made blaster box that I created, based on a vintage wooden box that I picked up at a street fair.

I sold it this year as the item was just too big and heavy to display.

I learnt quite a bit whilst building this prop and have the upmost admiration for the professional box builders out there. My creation was very rough around the edges.

Ironically, it took me 10 years to buy a blaster. My first purchase was an Off World Blaster. It had a sparkly finish to the metal, like a car's paintwork.

The blaster was an early version and the seller told me the lights were non-functional. On examination, the switch was hidden in the removable magazine.

As soon as I received this, I knew I wanted something more substantial. This was mainly plastic and felt very much like a toy. I pushed the bright red plastic stopper as far as I could down the barrel and painted it black.

I ended up selling this piece with the base.

The Medicom Spinner was another example of a piece that I'd looked forward to owning but the reality was disappointing. For those with the skills and patience, this has the potential to be great. However. whilst the size is spot on, the build quality was flimsy and the finish wasn't great. The lack of "wow! factor" meant this was soon resold.

Droid Magazine was a project that took hundreds of man hours. The fun was in the creation of this magazine, it was a giant scrapbook of all sorts of things. I worked with the most basic of tools as I didn't have any creative software.

At some point, I'd like to revisit this project.

The second copy was sold with a plastic sleeve and mock tax stamp.

I love wallet sets. Trouble is, you only really need one in your collection. It was a tough call but I kept the middle one.

These are the sets that I've sent on to new homes.

I didn't think my first copy of Pale Fire would sell as the film hadn't opened at the cinema. I threw in the infamous "mystery glass", thinking this would help.

My remaining copy was acting as a dust catcher so it also went to a proud new owner.

Blaster magazine is literally fictional gun porn. I've never seen anything quite like it. Beautifully shot photos of every model of Blade Runner blaster imaginable, all wrapped up in a glossy exterior.

Again, once I had them in my hands, I realised I'd never really use them.

I always thought the Tomenosuke Pro would be my grail piece. However, I'd imagined a beautifully blued example.

For me, and this isn't meant to be controversial, the Pro's a little dull. The versions that people have worked on are objects of great beauty but, straight out of the box, this item just appeared "flat".

After much deliberation, I decided to let it go. After seeing the issues with subsequent releases, there's a part of me that regrets selling this example.

The late NYzeki's 2019 newspaper reproduction was one of the first Blade Runner prop items I purchased. After I'd bought it, I ended up buying other collectors' memorabilia and somehow ended up with 3 copies of this item.

2 of these are now with new owners.

I really wanted to build both these blasters but the reality of not having the right skill set or enough time became obvious. Rather than start them and sell a half completed job, I decided to pass them on to more experienced enthusiasts.

The first blaster is from the very talented rgriesbeck. Really crisp 3D printed pieces - even with the flash, they actually slotted together.

The second doesn't require an introduction. A beautiful kit.

Other miscellaneous items included:

Gaff's Spinner Radio

Cold Cast Police Badge

Replicant Files

Sold following the purchase of a duplicate set as part of a collection.

Sold Don's cylinder as it was surplus to requirement following the departure of my Tomensuke. Beautiful craftsmanship.

I sold a duplicate set of SKIN JOB 66's exquisite Unicorn evidence bags. Really regret parting with these as they make the perfect wallet stuffer.

Cheers, gentlemen! I think this summarises the items that have gone to new homes. There were other items, sold many years ago, but I can't trace the pics at the moment.

It's good to have a pictorial record of the items that I've let go.

An amazing collection. I am just on the first tentative steps of collecting and this is something to aspire to. I've not got the funds available for the really amazing pieces but I have managed to find a few bits to get me started. Hopefully once I have them finished I can pop them up here for critique and pointers for going forward.

Just wanted to say thanks for your post DVD, but also to all your inspiration and hard work from everyone on this forum for finding and making the props from this world available to so many of us.

Alan

Sincere thanks, Alan. Really appreciate your kind words.

All these items shown so far have now gone to new homes. That's the beauty of this hobby, there's a steady ebb and flow of pieces as tastes or circumstances change.

Due to lack of space, I've been quite ruthless with my collection and most duplicate items (no matter how small) have been steadily sold to free up resources for fresh purposes.

It's an amazing community and the kindness and generosity of individuals constantly surprises me. The sheer wealth of knowledge and obsession to create authentic replicas here is gobsmacking.
