I grabbed another from the site that Artificial Owl posted above and the shipping was crazy fast. Got it 2 days after I ordered.

They still have them in stock, BTW...

Now that I have a couple of the new Johnnie Walker bottles, I'm not as enamoured with them as I thought I might be. It isn't a bad bottle design, it just doesn't speak to me. Weird, I know.

Maybe if I drank the stuff...

Perhaps. If they cost me a few dollars less...

That is, by the way, a fine array of emoji, Anders.

Thank you, I put a lot of thought into those emojis

Of course. Only joking. I know that feeling. You could always sell. I'm sure there are still people out there looking

It actually tastes really good. I suggest making one of the cocktails created during promotion of the film that uses it as an ingredient, Ode to Dreams. Fantastic.

Update for Canadians:
The local distributor has said they are getting it in. They have also said that they aren't.
Fingers crossed, there's a 50/50 chance I guess.
My other option is to drive down to Washington and pay the duty on bringing it back.

I've never brought alcohol over the border, how much is the duty? Is there an allowance for gifts?

For Canadians, we have no exemption unless you stay 48 hours or more on the USA side.

We get a $800 exemption per person and that includes either 2 bottles of wine, 1 L of spirits or a case of beer.

So when I bring back my 2 bottles I need to be with my wife to be fully exempt but usually they will let us pas with 2 x 750ml bottles.

Ah, ok. I'm Canadian, but I've lived in the US for a long time now. If there are some Canadians who wanted one, but weren't able to get it there, I'd potentially be willing to bring some up the next time I visit & mail it to them.

I wasn't sure about entering the country with it, and I don't know if there are laws about mailing it to various provinces from within Canada.

Mine arrived today a wonderful gift from a friend..

Sadly the gift and I were both blessed with a $200.00 import and quarantine fee

Even so, I am very grateful to have it!

Yeah, I was pretty angry about it joberg because it was stopped and they opened the bottle which means that even if I wanted to drink it, I can't since the seal has been tampered with.

It sat in quarantine for just under 4 weeks and part of the $200.00 was I assume for board and lodging for my bottle in the quarantine offices. Very Happy

Its a gorgeous bottle and I have no regrets. Australian J.Walker didn't make it available here...

Regards,
MARK

Isn't it illegal to tamper with those seals, especially in the import office? Australia sounds surprisingly corrupt.
