Andy,
I found this when I was going through some of my stuff and suddenly thought of you and your Gaff Costume!
Surprising how much the purple color comes out in the photo when the main color present in this is Blue(which is why I bought it back in the late 80's)
It's VERY colorful, metallic, formal and really strikes me as something that Gaff would wear.
The only thing that might be a problem is it's size.
I've gone from a 36" waist to a 42" and it just won't fit me anymore, maybe it will you.
So...you want? Very Happy

Not bad...it is better then most of the ones I have seen and bid on on eBay. I find some at all the thrift store too but usually in the woman's section. Only the dark colored ones tend to stay in the men's department whether they were originally a mans or not. Is the 36 chest size? I believe I am a 42 or a medium-large in most of what I buy. Mostly because of my height though. Finding one that isn't too small has been a problem though. Thank you.

Whoa!
I screwed up there with the measurements...

I've gone from a 29" waist-line to a 34" and now the vest doesn't fit me around the middle. 42" is my chest size...

So, does that mean this vest is too small for you too?

Maybe you could have your girl friend add a gusset up the back of this one?

My waist is 32'. What does it look like in natural light?

What I like and is also so hard about Gaff's wardrobe is that he pretty much changes his clothes completely in each scene. Different tie, waistcoat, hat, and even coat. Trying to find a match for any of them is close to impossible, but I guess it could all exist in his closet. He is by far the most enigmatic of all the BR characters. He exists as some kind of puppet master with Deckard. Watching and maybe controlling his every move.

Yes but his COSTUME LINES remain the same...that is...
If you were to see only his silhouette, you would still have no doubt who it was.

Best I can do Andy!
I think you can see by the close-ups that it tends to change color just a bit depending on the light.
I'm certaily open to you changing the buttons on it as well...they are a little dull compared with Gaff.

Let me know if you want it!

I'm a big fan of vests (they cut down the need to iron anything on your shirt but the sleeves and collar). If Andy can't fit this, maybe I can.

I was just calling second dibs in case you decided it wouldn't fit. If you think it'll fit you, Andy, go for it.

Not sure what I'd have to trade for it (I thinned out quite a bit of stuff just before I moved last month), but I can look. Anything in particular you're looking for?

Right now I'm looking for little things to finish out my Deckard and Rachael's Costume for Halloween...but I'm open to just about anything BR related...I.D.'s, badge's, a black sequined clutch purse...etc...
But, like I say, anything BR is cool...

OB,

Let me know what you want for it? If it doesn't fit I can always pass it down to Pete. I Also have a Deckard ID ready to go.

I'd be more than willing to trade you straight across for the Deckard I.D. Andy...I'll even throw in some alternate buttons for your consideration, that are very flashy.

Let me know if this sounds good and then forward your mailing address to me so I can get it in the mail to you.
Thanks!

It does seem to have some of the same colors as one of my ties. It looks much better than all of what I have seen on eBay. I have the Deckard ID with the clip tag lamination on top that could be cut down to make a wallet ID. I also have extra parts if you want to make and sign your own.

Andy,
The vest is in the Post heading to you (USPS) The extra buttons are in the left pocket.
Please let me know when it arrives.

If it doesn't fit you, I am told there are a number of simple fixes to make it do so, I will probably hand you over to Rachael for those suggestions.

I'm off for the week-end in Oregon.
Have a better one!

Could be soon enough. I am waiting closer to Halloween to shave down my beard for it. I have the cane, and a pretty decent leather trench. Not perfect, but his in the movie was a woman's coat and would most likely be too small on me. I also have the Helmet looking pretty good as well as some pretty nice hats and ties. I am still looking for a suitable dress shirt to go along with it, and maybe a suit or suit jacket in the same ginchy style. I already have a great pare of Gucci shoes that will work great. I am still keeping my eye out for the more authentic stuff.

The George Eastman House has a big Oscar party and you are expected to dress as a Hollywood Character, so I will keep working on it for that too. I am already talking to them about a BR display there. They said they are looking to play one of the versions again soon, and may do a Ridley Scott selection with hope of getting him to host. Keep your fingers crossed because if it happens I will most likely be a part of it.
