Andy is the best source, I hope he can help.

BTW, please note that the pic you showed in your first post is not the hero blaster. Its my Worldcon so, if you are checking measurements and finish, you might want to revert to the Hero (posted below).

Best of luck, MARK

Other possibility is to hunt down a WW2 US Army EE-8 field phone or a TG-5-B Telegraph... which is the original source for the binding post in question. They both have hefty price tacks. Good luck

The small one is the correct one. I am still looking for my EE-8 phone parts. I might have pulled the posts off and scrapped the leftovers possibly. I will keep looking though.

I've only ever pulled them from radios listed EE-8 without any further suffix. The posts were definitely used on a few pieces of equipment, and have variations among them as well. The one on the pictures you have looks pretty good to me, but you can really get sucked into the details with this stuff if you let yourself.

Yet another question: does the post come off by just unscrewing or do I need to disassemble the whole box?

thankS!

Not the whole box, but there's a couple of nuts that are usually covered in gunk on the back fastening the post to the chassis, and then a couple wires to the post. You just have to take those off, and they come right out.
