Hi folks,

My heavily upgraded Offworld blaster is effectively no more. Where the Bulldog frame meets the gripframe has snapped (the exposed area between the main body of the blaster and the amber grips.)

I could try to glue it, but the problem seems to stem from the metal upgrades I have, and the main frame of the Bulldog being plastic.

Does anyone do a metal frame replacement?

Post up some photos of the damage, maybe we can help you fix what is busted.

Too bad it wasn’t a Tomenosuke or I could help you out with a frame...

Fair point Smile Can't see how to upload photos though? As I have one now!

Also, ogrotesque1 - as it's the bulldog part, wouldn't it work? Feeling hopeful!

Afraid not, Off World used a 38 Special for their Model, not the accurate 44 Special. Good luck!

Ah, that part is the grip frame, thought you meant the frame around the cylinder. My bad!

No worries at all! I'm sure I didn't explain it very well. Just wish I could find a metal replacement Sad

The Charter arms Bulldog grip frame is something that is usually easy and affordably obtained. They are made of aluminum and not to difficult to tap with the right tools and experience. It would need to be cut down to remove the trigger guard and such, but it won't matter if you get one from a .38 or .44

Yes, I would suggest you search ebay or gunbroker or gunsamerica for "charter arms grip frame".

You will have to do some wotk on it, cutting with a dremel tool, etc to match it up, but once you do, that sucker is not going to snap again.

Good luck. Hope you keep us updated with photos!

They've actually been out of stock for a while. Now if only they'd ever get Steyr parts again : /

That would be perfect! Thanks for the link, but...

Sad They only ship to the US. I'm in Ireland. I wouldn't mind, but the part is legal to import.

Any other potential sites?

Not that part, though. They sell metal replacements for certain parts, just not that one.

Tried my US remailer service...

Because of recent events, even if something isn't a gun, but looks like one or could be a part of one, they're refusing to send it. Even though it's legal!

Sigh.
