Hi Karl

Received your storage case a few days ago, I must say the box is a work of beauty. Thanks for the smooth transaction.

Thanks again

Karl, first of all, the case is stunning. I looks even better than I had imagined. Thank you so much for the amazing job that you did on these.

Second, and I feel like a bit of an idiot... I know the plates were going to be sent loose so that they could be attached by us but I don't see one in the box and I'm a bit terrified that I may have inadvertently misplaced it during unpacking.

EDIT: Found it!

Hi Nexus7,

I'm really glad you like the case.
A lot of work goes into these.

For those that don't have them yet, the VIN plate is wrapped in paper towel and is taped top the top of the leatherette in the middle of the waste section of the blaster cut out.

Ths is the piece of blaster-shaped foam you remove and discard.

Now that the first round is shipped, I am glad that those who have received theirs are as pleased as I had expected (and as I might assume you all will be).

As he said, a lot goes into everything he creates, but Karl's work speaks for itself.

I've never been disappointed . . . - Replicant 13

I'll do another couple of pics (inside and out) tomorrow and put them up in the FB group. Just took this quick one...

I went round and round with the plate, even considering putting it inside. Ultimately, I figured that if it were to have a plate at all that it would be on the front. But it didn't work for me on the left, covering the box joint.

I think I can speak for Skinjob. Aside from the practicality of shipping it internally to protect it, that is why it wasn't affixed before shipping. It's your choice. Depending on how you prefer to display it, it could be stored on either end or as you have it, on the front.

I envisioned several boxes stacked. Perhaps 4 or 5 in Bryant's office, ready to be issued . . .

Absolutely.
There were several comments about different locations/positions for the plate.
So I thought it best we let the individual decide.

The MK2 case will have the plate shipped loose as well.

I received my Wood-Leather display box today.
Looks really cool.... better in person than in the photos.Shocked
Colours of the plaques-leather-wood stain-metal hardware....etc. look great
and all work well together. Recommended.

I am going to place the "VIN-Plate" on the side of the box.....
rather than on the front. Each to their own...they say.

Thanks again Skin-Job and R13 for this project.
Cool

Hi CC,

Many thanks for the feedback.
Glad you like it.

The woodstains take nicely to that kind of timber, lots of reds and russets you don't normally get.

Didn't want 'Brown'

Svander,

Cratercritter has deleted his post so I don't know what you're referring to.

PM me if you like?

Crattercritter has messaged saying his lid chain broke.
I was told the chain I supplied was link welded, but this is clearly not the case.
I apologize and will fix this right away.

If everyone who got a MK1 box would like to, please email me with your board name, real name and address and I'll send new chains out for everyone.
They attach simply by two small screws.

karl@skin-job.com

Apologies again,

Karl

Hey,
I can confirm that mine broke as well on the very first opening of the box, and I can swear I was very gentle. fixed it with pliers but you can see that every link is open and weak.
thanks for the offer of replacement in any case. I just sent you a mail.

I'm well aware of the problem, since I raised it Smile

Please just email me if you want one and I'll get new chains out to everyone.
no need to post anything here.

Small, thing, easy fix.
