While we're on the subject of Lego, this is my favorite:

One of my friends sent me this a few months ago... Love the smoke effect !

Fred

PS : Saw the Lego Guggenheim museum box, too abstract (because too small) alas to pay a real tribute to FL Wright's masterpiece...

I found a lego spinner model (I think with a "scene" to place it in) AND some sort of "how to" with a step-by-step manual how to get it built at some Lego site some year ago (and lost the files) and I have still to build one for myself but I think that with age you loose that magic lego skill that's needed.

So, if anyone finds a "how-to" or still has those lego skills for a Spinner, please let me know

I have some pictures from a Lego fan group a few years ago, but without any set. It had a step by step. I also remember a download from the Lego creator site, but that was on an old computer of mine. Not sure if it is still at the site any more or not. I will have to look. I think most of all the links were posted here at some point too.

My girlfriend and her parents just bought her son a ton of Lego sets. I feel these are just as much presents for me as for him. He only likes the figures because he is 7. I get to build them all Very Happy. We also play all the Lego games together including Batman, Star Wars, and Indiana Jones. I just Finished Star Wars complete Saga on the Wii this past weekend with him.

I still have my Lego set from 1964...ah the memories. Lego has a way to re-invent itself every year; never goes out of fashion.

Lego Digital Designer Spinner...

http://designbyme.lego.com/en-us/gallery/default.aspx?parameters=1||spinner

You may have to cut and paste the url to link to it.

I haven't tried it yet but if you design your own Lego model using the digital designer software (free download) you can have them send you the custom model with box too using Design By Me.

I have made a black version in "LEGO Digital Designer" by "Kaitimar" but some of the bricks are missing... they can be found at bricklink.com :

2430 Hinge Plate 1 x 4 Swivel Top x2
2429 Hinge Plate 1 x 4 Swivel Base x2
6215 Modified 2 x 3 with Curved Top x2
42022 Trans-Black Slope, Curved 6x1 x2
41751 Trans-Black Windscreen 8x6x2 Curved x1
4859 Wedge, Plate 3 x 4 without Stud Notches x2
30209 Plate Modified 1x2 with 4x4 disk at 90 degrees x2
4773 Trans-Red Electric, Light Bulb Cover (Colored Globe) x2
2431p52 Tile 1x4 with Diagonal Stripes Black Pattern (Yellow) x1

Download file here :
http://rapidshare.com/files/387938988/BRS.zip

I have put white bricks on the turbines so it looks as if it takes off.
and a pillar to support it.

I hope LEGO will bring the missing briks/colors in the next update..
and make it poseble to "fix" Tecnic brick's with in normal bricks....

Feel free to modify and post your result.
