I don't know about you guys but I've spent a huge amount of money on bootlegs of the BR soundtrack in the hope I'd get a complete score.
On the 10th of December my wait is over...

Quote:
Universal Music TV is set to release a stunning 3CD collection to mark the 25th Anniversary of Blade Runner on December 10th, 2007. Featuring previously unreleased music from the film, bonus tracks and a brand new album of Vangelis material inspired by the film with sleeve notes written by Ridley Scott.

Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner, with its apocalyptic depiction of LA in 2019, has become one of the most celebrated sci-fi releases of the 20th century. It’s one of those films where all of the constituent parts - the set, the lighting, the characters, the sparse dialogue and of course the music - work uniquely together to produce a cult masterpiece.

The music has always been a key element of Blade Runner and there have been various versions of the soundtrack over the years, some ‘official’ and some bootlegs. But they have all either been incomplete or have suffered from poor sound quality, until now. Blade Runner Trilogy: 25th Anniversary is a 3CD set which - for the first time - puts all the pieces together, providing the complete music from the film and a lot more besides.

CD 1 features the original and remastered soundtrack as it first appeared in 1994, twelve years after the film was released. The second CD contains all the remaining music from the film that did not appear on the original 1994 soundtrack, plus two bonus tracks (“One Alone” and “Desolation Path”). None of this material has been released before.

The third and final disc will be of real interest to Vangelis fans - as it contains an entire album of newly written material composed by Vangelis to mark the 25th anniversary of Blade Runner. The music is strong and flowing, and retains the dark, atmospheric sense of the original score. There are some intriguing spoken word contributions too, from Ridley Scott, Roman Polanski, Oliver Stone and a host of distinguished actors, personalities and world dignitaries.

Looks like it will still have the same annoying dialogue samples on 'Blush Response" etc

But apart from that - woo and indeed, hoo!

Dr Tyrells Death is the one I've always wanted in decent quality. smart.

Far out! Cool How does this compare to the 2x CD 'Esper Edition' (I don't have it to hand).

Not having heard the tracks on the listed CD 2, I can't say for sure, but I do have the Esper Edition and the track list is vastly different on both CDs. The track list for CD 1 here looks pretty much like the 1994 soundtrack release.

The Esper Edition has a lot of dialogue/FX samples on it but is a pretty complete score from the film, in that the music appears more or less excatly as it does in the film with the exception of a few tracks. Personally its my preferred BR soundtrack. Not saying I wont grab this one though.

I got downloads of the Esper M3 and LA November 2019 too. The LA Nov 2019 is great with the ambient background sounds if you just want to establish a 'mood'. I also have the Gongo and a few others. I have all the Official releases as well. I got the ones that Blade Zone linked to years ago as well, but they were pretty low bit.

I have the Esper mark 1,2 and 3.
I also have the Gongo, the original Japanese Deck release, the Deck Definitive Edition, Memoires vol 5 version, the Off world 20th Anniversary Edition, the 2001 Version, the BG 589 Version and the LA 2019.

As you can imagine I'm really looking forward to the new release!

It's shame about all the spoken word stuff on disc 3 - sounds really pretentious.

It Doesn't look like it's got the seven minute version of the end titles either, this track has always been poor quality on every bootleg.

I really wish Vangelis had released a version that had complete and extended versions of every track from start to finish.

I was never a fan of the official OST release - the newly recorded material never had the same feel as the genuine 1982 soundtrack and the dialogue is really annoying.

Soundtracks should just be soundtracks!
