Hope this is the right forum for this, however it isn't a prop, but definitely related to Blade Runner props!

Looks like the 'core' of Dekard's gun is back in production. The .44 Special Bulldog pug available in blue and silver, now with a "DAO hammer" option for that streamlined look. I heard this company filed chapter 11 several years ago! I guess they are back.

review (with regular hammer):

website's DAO version:

I've never shot a .44 special round before do they kick like .40 s&w? Man, I'd love to have a Blade Runner blaster I can take to the firing range! When I think of futuristic handguns, I think of the SOCOM

or this interesting russian gun

anyone know of any other futuristic handguns out there?

An interesting concept to say the least.

There's also the FN 5.7

Charter arms was bought by another company (Interarms I believe, or maybe Mil-Tech) and production started on new models of guns a few years ago. The hammerless models were available back in the day as well.

The new models are beefier and have better grips that the older ones.

Firing a 44 special is like firing a hot 357 load, but isn't quite as powerful as a 44 magnum. It's not like firing 40s&w at all. The guns CA makes ends to be light, so they have some kick to them. Nothing you can't control though.

I think the movies have done a lot to make people think that large calibers like the .44 and .357 have this massive recoil. Not to say it doesn't kick a bit, but its not going to break a wrist or anything like that.
