great! thanks for the tips eltee Smile

I agree about the small gap around the cut-out, will bear that in mind when cutting.

On your wallet/s were the badge holes cut out of the blank leather base s or did you glue them to the surface?

On the wallets for my BR metal badges, I had the badges cast with no pins. I ordered the wallets as a "glue-in" style so there was no accomodation for a pin...the badge was inset and glued directly to the leather.

I have two styles, one a typical cop style that can be hung in a shirt/coat pocket displaying the metal badge, the other is the type commonly used in BR projects (tri fold).

The debate continues, even after the release of the new DVD, as to whether or not there was a metal badge in the wallet. In the scene with the snake dealer, Deckard deliberately opens the wallet to expose all three panels and if there was no metal badge there or something that needed to be shown, why bother? To show the police ID card, you only need to flip it open to show the one panel with the ID...so what is Deckard showing on the other two inner panels?

I concur with ^THIS^ assessment.

It is possible that he accidentally folded the ID part in first and needed to fold out the opposite flap to open it for the ID. I do that with my wallets all the time. I will have to look back at that scene.

In the Cut scenes it shows him opening up the wallet 2 more times (In his car to show cop on vid screen, and in another alt shot at Taffy's) and each time he only opens the one flap with the ID. I find that highly suspicious, but not entirely conclusive.

I do feel however if he had the badge at the time he was showing his ID in the film, it would make more sense to show the badge too. If there was a badge, the only reason for not showing it in almost every version of this would be that it wasn't looking good up to Ridley's standards, or the badge protection flap would have been in the way.

Still with production artists not remembering a badge being made, it looks bad for it's existance.

I'm convinced there is no wallet badge. The captures spinner showed over at the rpf are proof of this.

Though I prefere my wallet to have a badge, and that Force badge is the perfect choice. Even in the case of the badge being made at the rpf, I reackon by now people probably believe it wasn't in the movie like the rest of the wallet project items, but will buy one anyway as it's better than nothing there at all Wink

after about five attempts, I got the first part of the tutorial done last night and the second part done today after 2 attempts. the second half of the tutorial (the back) is alot more tricky than the first half.

It's not 100% screen accurate, but the tutorial version isn't either and I comprimised a few areas to make it more accurate.

I'm quite chuffed. my first and probably last attempt at origami Smile

cheers guys Very Happy

What made this difficult was the paper being so small and the foil being so delicate. I used a cocktail stick for the tricky folds to compensate for not having kids fingers.

the tutorial isnt straight forward either. takes a bit of working out from one stage to the next.

just a round up of the bits so far.

I made the main Leon photo from blue-ray photo caps and merged a matte painted version to add detail that wasnt visable.

I'll post some bigger better pics when it's all wrapped up.

Ndeed GREAT work!

Impressive!

I myself am looking forward to the photographs and seeing how the process was completed to render them as such.

I haven't seen (or maybe I missed it) of a process of how the pics are created.
