Without offering an opinion on who did what, where, when and why, I find this thread to be very informative. It offers great detail and information about replicas and the actual bantering vs. information being shared in my opinion in minimal.
I think the thread does fine here

Yeah, usually chief's specials are snub-nosed revolvers, or S&W has issued an ultra-compact 9mm semi-auto with the name too. I almost bought one of those models many years back, but ended up getting the smith 908 instead.
And I should probably check my emails before posting this, but I'm fairly certain Kato and the boys thought CS, or C&S was the actual name of the gun in the film, and also that Rich was the original builder, and owned the original, and was producing compies from that.
