Yes, I know, plastic was supposed to be yellow, but you can reverse the process : Use the photo Karl T. took of the real thing and just add a clear piece of plastic (I scavanged a toy blister for mine) and it's done !
Thanks again Eltee for the good work you've provided on this incredible set !

Hey Fred... that looks great. What brand of black paint did you use to fill in the detail? _________________ Bill Hunt, Editor

This weekend I will pull out the BR box and determine exactly what is left from the BIG BADGE runs. I'll post a pic. |

Hi Bill,
I've used an ordinary black HUMBROL kit paint... but I've tried to make a dirty job while applying it in order to have a final result close to the original, genuine props !
Hope it'll help !

Posted: Sun Mar 15, 2009 4:27 pm Post subject: THE FINAL SIX BADGES SETS |
|
|
OK, I have five badge sets left plus one set where the badge has an imperfection. The imperfect badge has a minor void as shown that is small in the front and small from the top of the edge. IMHO it is minor, but it is not perfect. However, this badge was given the acid etch treatment to get the dark color in the recesses, which I think looks better than paint and is certainly more durable.
The unfiinished five sets complete with shield, unfinished photo ring and "POLICE 995" plate are $125.00 each plus shipping which is about $5.00 USPS w/ confirmation within CONUS. Shipping to Europe or Japan add $12.00. If the shipping is significantly less, I will make an adjustment via paypal refund. UPS with tracking will be more. Note that "unfinished" means there is no acid wash or paint on these, but otherwise there is no work required on the metal.
The finished, but blemished, set is $140.00 plus shipping. IMHO this is the nicest one since things in the BR 2019 world were so imperfect anyway, and real policemen take pride in the wear and tear shown on their equipment, symbolic of an "old salt" on the streets (speaking from personal experience...from current times, however).
Paypal preferred, US Postal Money orders OK. First dibs go to Tony_19, Offworld66, RickDeckard and Chronos based on their PM's. If no deals are struck with these members by 03/20 at 3PM Pacific Time, the badges are available to those who post an "I'll take it" and make arrangements for payment within 24 hours.
This is not a sales pitch, but all along I have posted that my metalsmith is in poor health that resulted in the long delays in this project. I do not know if he will ever be able to do another run for me so these may be the FINAL SIX BADGE SETS.
I have been waiting for him to get strong enough to finish another project I have been working on for over a year. Anyway, price is the same as my day one offering, but this MAY be it.
THANK YOU for your interest. |

|
|
I am happy to sell to anyone in any country but please consider that your country may wish to place duties, taxes or other fees on your set. This is not included in the price and is your responsibility. I will list the items on the customs forms as used metal castings...which they are. They are not a manufactured item so hopefully customs will not be too concerned on the value.
I ship via the Postal Service and I will keep the receipt showing destination and customs form number. This can help in determining status of a package, but is not a guarantee. You know best the reliability of your local postal service. If you have concerns, please let me know ASAP in case we need to upgrade the shipping method. I THINK I can send these with return receipt or insurance coverages at the quoted shipping prices. |

Paid orders have shipped.
PLEASE NOTE: Shipping out of CONUS will be $21.00 for first class by air, registered mail. I just shipped one to the UK and with the shipping pouch and postage it was that much. If you want a return receipt, insurance for full value, etc. I can get a quote from the post office. These are currently insured for about the third of the cost with the registered mail option.
The price is high because of the weight of these things. Sorry. |

I've 'restored' the cop image for anyone that wants it. Shadows from the badge ring and light reflections in the plastic 'bubble' have been erased as have some of the scratches. I also extended the shirt and yellow background a little so that you don't have any problems with cropping.
It will print at the correct size.
