Hi all,
I just wanted to say that I received my Deckard necktie yesterday from Indy Magnoli.
It's a terrific looking replica, and the materials and craftsmanship are simply superb!
If you're looking to complete a Deckard-esque wardrobe, you must have one of these skinny retro ties!
His website is here: http://www.magnoliclothiers.com/
I've seen that he's now gathering interest to produce a screen-accurate shirt as well. He said he needs at least 30 people to do it. He's at about 18 right now. Hope more people climb on the shirt bandwagon! _________________ I find your lack of faith disturbing. . . |

I was watching the DVD set a couple days ago..if you can believe that, and I rember seeing the back of the shirt around the scene when he and Racheal get "rough" in the foyer. I think it was on the extras in the 4th disc, but I forgot to mark off where. Also my "Damn Vista" computer won't let me do screen grabs. I will look again in the next couple of days. If someone doesn't beat me to it.

I dont remember the details but do recall seeing video of the guy who purchased the original shirt, specifically showing the back and a little chat about the design, does this ring any bells? _________________ Formerly offworld66 |

Thanks O.B
Im pretty sure the vision i saw didnt come from his website, i think i came across it while following up on Gary W`s research on the addidas officials shoe, will try to retrace my steps. I spoke to Meg about this shirt a little while ago so am very keen for her to get all the information she needs to finish it.
Here are my latest costume aquisitions:
I lost the auction for the tie but asked if there was a second, and there was. Been waiting for four weeks for arrival, getting worried.(not me in pic)
The shoes were brand new and quite a find. All i need now is the shirt and
watch to go with the coat, blaster and holster and im good to go. _________________ Formerly offworld66 |

I have a long list o' stuff and will be shopping on Wednesday for it. It's a trek to the Mother Lode but always worth it. I'll be posting pics of fabrics for the colorblocked shirt here and on my site by the end of the week. _________________ Is this testing whether I'm a Replicant or a lesbian, Mr. Deckard? |

There were more pics from ScreenUsed.com that are pretty big. You have to look at the sold items to find it though. Direct links don't seem to work.

We had a productive day; found all sorts of fabrics. These are the best shots I got:
The colors on this shirt vary so much depending on the pic you look at. It's a blue shirt in some shots, a teal shirt in others. But ya gotta make a call so we went with this one.
So yeah, finding the exact fabric in the exact color just isn't any fun. But we did find this lightweight wool, which is a great color/texture match, just isn't silk.

some days I should not be allowed on the internet.
we all know how much hard work goes into re-creating props and costumes, and that the product is always the result of hours of labor, and hard-earned sweat and tears. From the large selection of quality costumes from other genres, this company deserves more than an off-hand snarky comment about a single item. _________________ Is this testing whether I'm a Replicant or a lesbian, Mr. Deckard?

I do notice that their collar doesn't have the same detail as Deck's Shirt:

Hi there ā
Iām Garry Wakely, and my wife and I run Twin Roses Designs, which created the Deckard style outfit referred to in the post above.
I wish we had had that photo of the shirt collar as a resource when we were creating our version of the shirt ā that detailing was not visible on the research photos we used, and our customer did not point out that specific detail to include during our time collaborating on the project. If we had known it was there, it would have been included.
Everyone has a budget, and a level of detailing that they want to have in their project. We can make something as accurate as someone wants (keeping in mind we did not work on the film), but it may cost a movie budget to hand dye and detail the pieces when the fabrics are just not available. Since this is a business and not a hobby, we do not have the luxury of days, months, or years to spend sourcing or re-creating specific fabrics that are 25+ years old. As it was, we did spend in excess of 15 hours attempting to source the materials from vendors all over the world, and trying out various hand dyeing techniques for the other shirt Deckard wears (the navy blue). We realized that the time it would take to re-create the look of this fabric from scratch would make the shirt not cost effective and this orange and teal shirt was the alternative, more feasible option.
The fabrics we used were selected as a collaborative process between ourselves and the customer. We sent numerous swatches back and forth, and used the fabrics that the customer approved. The customer turned down the opportunity for us to hand-dye silk suiting to match (as closely as possible) the original jacket, and instead opted to go for the polyester as a cost effective measure which did NOT behave anything like silk would.
We and our customer know that the final outfit is not screen accurate, but we never say that it was ā and it was made with care and pride in our work and respect for our customer's wishes and budget. |

Hi Garry!
Welcome to our community here. It is always great when someone who sells anything related to Blade Runner joins Propsummit. I always see it as an opportunity for the Customer and Maker to grow from the experience.
I hope we can all learn from one another!
Take care,

Here are some in-progress pics of Deckard's Blazer:
The breast pocket appears to be very low in the pictures of the original. In fact, the whole coat seems to have stretched out of shape with time. Looks rather like a Dali painting. I may be moving the pocket up a bit. The puckers on the back seams will go away with steam. Next thing to hit is the sleeves; there is an odd cuff detail so I put it off until last. _________________ Is this testing whether I'm a Replicant or a lesbian, Mr. Deckard?
