I'm all hyped up thanks to the new dvd release, and am back to work on my costume;
I think I'm going crazy though, because I'm sure I had a copy of this picture:
or a similar one, but in COLOR. I cant seem to find any color pics of Deck's tweed pants he wears with the darker shirt.
Anyone know if I'm loosing it?
Also, if any other reference pics of these lighter colored pants exist, I'd really appriciate the help! |

I was out earlier and walked thru Dillard's looking for pants that look similar to those gray ones. I was looking for something in a medium gray tweed, which nobody seems to ever have!
I did see some that were kind of close. They were a couple of shades too dark though. The funny thing is, the style was called "Bryant." _________________ I find your lack of faith disturbing. . . |

That "Tweedy" type of material is really hard to come by in a natural color as well.
I had a black pair of pants back during the Hay-Day of Miami-Vice that I used to refer to as my "Salt&Pepper Pants" that were in this type of material...
I think it's a really interesting mix of colors and texture's that make Deckard's look so cool...it says "Earthy-Natural-Relaxed" while also carrying an intensity with it...
OK...maybe I've had too much beer...

I posted this in the shoe thread as well, but last weekend I found a decent looking pair of pants in a tweed-ish fabric. It's really hard to find modern dress pants without those pleats in the front! I found these at Macy's.
I tried them on with my new "Deckard" shoes to see how they looked together.
I think they look pretty close. Not as fully textured as the ones from the film, but I think they're a passable simulation. _________________ I find your lack of faith disturbing. . . |

Once-bitten, is there any chance you - or SOMEONE here - could (RE)post the pictures you once posted in this thread?
Failing that, I'm trying to get an idea of which pants Deckard wore (and WHEN) in the movie...
I'm at work right now and have NO access to watching the movie (much less in watching it in anything approaching High Definition) but I need to be sure about something (which I'm sure has been talked about already in this forum... so maybe I'm asking someone to direct me to the right thread)... But, was Deckard wearing the "brownish" ones at the beginning of the movie?... THEN the "silvery-grey"? Dark grey? Dark blue? etc, etc, etc?
Can someone tell me what COLOR pants (approximately) Deckard was wearing - and for which scenes? (Maybe I'm digging up a BIG debate that's been buried for a while, I don't know.)
Also, two more questions about his pants:
- Are they pleated? The ones he's wearing when he VKs Rachael sure don't look like it. Are ANY of them?
- The ones he's wearing at Tyrell's seem to have reeeaaally wide belt-loops on either side of the front of the pants. Are all of his pants like this?
- For THAT matter (yes, question # 3, I know) are ALL of his pants the exact same style except different in color?
Any wisdom and guidance from you fine folks would be greatly appreciated.
All the Best,
Mitch |

Here are the best three examples I have of the pants.
As you can see, the darker pair have thinner belt loops.
I have also seen a pic of the "Salt & Pepper" pants that are brown and have the wide belt loops
so I'm lead to believe they had a couple pair made in the same style with different fabrics...
that fabric however is very rustic in nature, sort of a speckled wool (which is why I call it salt and pepper...
I had a pair of black ones when I was younger)
I don't know as far as pleats go...
we didn't put any in the pants Rachael made for me and I think they look great. She will make them in whatever color you want by the way...check her out at:

Thanks Once-bitten, for that helpful - and FAST - response. Those photos were a BIG help!
(But "big" like the size of one of those photos! I'm worried helping me is gonna get you in trouble... You might have to "down-size" a bit!)
Cheers,
Mitch |

Good find Tim! By the way, notice how the belt is not in the loop in the bathroom & bed scene. |
