Very cool Fred, looks like a deepeyes helmet from the FF animated movie.
Love it. |

Hehe...it looks great.
I love the design of those helmets...and the 995 just makes it a whole lot better. |

Oh yes, I like this a lot!!
I especially like the idea that members here are expanding the BR world so that its now more than just the movie.
Cheers for sharing mate. _________________

I'm surprised nobody noticed the Samaritan bullets lying next to the helmet... Is their stopping power directed against replicants or Off-World threats? |

Good eye, AKU-AKU !
And thanks a lot for the kind words, guys, it means a lot to me !
I'll post more pics of the helmet very soon (maybe tomorrow) with all the detailing clearly visible...
To tell you a little more about this project :
I've bought this Final Fantasy helmet 2 years ago on eBay from a seller named armormask (aka Nightmare armor outside eBay iirc).
I must say I was pretty disappointed by what I got for nearly 500USD (shipping costs included) : An hollow cast with no padding inside, a rather simple paintjob and a lack of details, although the general shape / sculpt was pretty good.
So I've decided to upgrade / retrofit it the way Mead's original Spinner design was dressed by the Blade Runner art dept...
I've incorporated a few Blade Runner related things, turning it into a kind of "Police shocktrooper helmet" in use in the Offworld anti-riot Police forces...

I've heard a few bad things about Nightmare Armor aswell.
You did a wonderful job on this one though Fred, really impressive. |

I think that is very cool.
I may have to look for one of those helmets for other things.

The most obvious non-military use for this or any other fully-enclosed helmet in the Off-World colonies would be as part of a Terra-forming technician's environmental suit for humans and replicants (after all, replicants are still carbon-based, oxygen-breathing artificial life forms...). The Deep-Eyes design already has respirators built-in, so instead of the POLICE logo, perhaps a Tyrell Corp. or Shimato-Dominguez logo? Would love to see that variant!
P.S. The Police color scheme helmet would go perfectly with the Rick Ross "Murder-Hit Squad" PKD variant:

I'm with you on that Aku-Aku; that particular PKD would kick ass as a side-arm for that particular uniform |

I would really love to see people make some more "Fantasy variant" imaginative BR stuff. Noeland and Rick have made some nice customized versions of the gun that even seem to expand the BR universe. Maybe we should have another contest for builds, and with Halloween coming up, even have some costumes.

Well spotted once again, AKU-AKU, this gun by Rick Ross was one of the influences for my helmet... I wanted to get the same russian look !
I also kept in mind one of BLADE RUNNER photos showing 2 "motorcycle cops" wearing white helmets... and also my memories of an old book cover by Moebius, I'll try to find it in order to post a scan.
OK, as promised, more pics and more details... I've added wiggets on the front to make it look a little bit like a bear mouth, thought it would be more agressive this way...
Fred

Thanks, Fred!
That is, hands-down, stop-the-ride, THE coolest helmet I've seen in a long, long time... Makes the storm trooper and clone trooper - even Vader helmets look like toys by comparison (I know, heresy - sue me! )
And one can never put on enough bumper feet greeblies...
Also can't shake the feeling that the designer of the Kroenen mask had a hand in this one...
