I can't comment on the Binding post as I don't really know for sure, perhaps Rich can enlighten us all, but the Weaver Knob ( or Screw if you prefer) was used to fix/hold the Shroud cover over the gun's cylinder drum on the hero , you can see the screw and where it connects to, on the frame - hope that helps , (( nice idea about the sight rod though, you'd definitely need some method to adjust it - I'm currently working on a real working laser diode and driver board that I hope to fit into the sight rod !!)) |

Looking very good from the pics (a little dark sometimes...maybe the blueing of the metal)? I'm very impatient to see more pics as the work progresses |

Thanks for the replies fellas.I know the pics are
dark but I just cant get the lighting proper. The
finish Im using is called Aluminum Black by
Birchwood Casey. When I first put it on it didnt
seem like it was doing anything but the more I
rubbed it the blacker it got.The stuff does give
the gun a blued look that I wanted though.
Ill tackle the outer grip frame and butt plate
next and post pics when theyre done.

phenomonally clean and crisp lines!
you're machining is making the cast parts feel bad about themselves.
so you're 'staining' the aluminum? thats amazing, i thought the previous pics were painted.
so will the bolt eventually become functional? |

Thanks Neosporing.Yes the bolt should work....hopefully.
Im working on the reciever now.Its a pretty complicated
piece as you know so Im kind of winging it.The Steyr
is the part Ive been holding off on because im not
sure if Ive got all the tooling to do it.Guess Ill find
out.

Well Don, I gotta tell you; this stuff is rockin' I like the sight rod, very Han Solo blaster in its concept. Keep up the good work and good luck for the Steyr component of the build. |

If anyone is interested I could probably
do a run of butt plates. I only have my
offworld for the hole to hole dimesions
but Im sure others could give me the
needed dimensions for theirs as well.
Just a thought.

Yes I would be interested in a buttplate for the OffWorld. I have a pewter one but would rather have it made from aluminum. I would also be interested in a barrel for the OffWorld blaster. |
