Technical drawings always excite me for the simple fact that they can add material to a prop (think Staar, Kurtyboy, etc...sorry if I forgot others here on this board); more details, that's what we need around here |

From the photo's that looks like a high vac resin cast ( to me) as prototype probably cast Zemtek when it comes to production. |

The proper name for this Marushin blaster is "Tomenosuke PRO".
I'll have an interesting post later today or perhaps tomorrow.

this is AWESOME!! I have their Mateba revolver from "ghost in the shell" it is of such nice quality and was only 200 bucks that I would be willing to bet this one will be less than the tomo blaster was. I paid about $850 for my tomo which is a fantastic replica but still being made from white metal I am very careful with it. the Mateba is very durable and usable.
this is very exciting. _________________ I just do eyes. |

I assume your "interesting post" will include the note that they are FINALLY going to send you the free blaster they owe you Karl!!!
It would be about time I'd say!

Title updated. Thanks Karl, and I can't wait to hear what you have learned from them. Here is hoping the price is affordable, even though I doubt it.
Thank you,

If you dig through all the material on their website and blogs , you come across this little snippet the cost - no less than Japanese Yen 498,750 which is what the last one sold at . So that's £3,400 odd UK pounds for what is granted a prefessional machined version, but for that I can buy a Styer and a CA Bulldog and have a real one !! I don't think I'll be buying their's, as this is clearly a money making exercise , since on their website they stated they were never going to make another . I am only stating my personal opinion - I prefer the real thing ! |

Yipes, that price is kinda scary. But, after we pay the Gunsmith his wages and for the licenses to alter the Steyr legally, as well as the Bulldog. It would be pretty close to that if not well more than, and it wouldn't be legal in the UK that is for sure, or many US states as well. Not to mention the rest of the world.

With a fully compliant gun license and lockable 'Steel Safe' storage you can own 'real' guns and hybrids to a degree in the UK .
My only real issue with the price ( of any blaster really !) is that it puts it out of the league of the majority of fans - we all would like an accurate reasonably priced 'all metal' blaster and I do declaire an interest here , it does cost money to produce one in terms of the raw materials :- pweter alloy, silicon , furnace, not to mention the machine tooling needed and all the accessories and bits and pieces - bolts screws etc etc required , so when you add all that up £400 to £500 UK pounds or $650 to $800 USD is round about the right price - yes it could be made less expensively, but you sacrifice quality and workmanship at the end of the day .
I just think IMHO that the Tomensokue price is to high. |

Too high for me to ever own one, or even consider and rationalize it for that matter. I may be a rabid fan, but I do have a life that I like to spend money outside of my hobby too

They get what the market is willing to bear. Lotsa deep pockets out there. Unfortunately, my pockets collect lint. |

Luxury, pure luxury... at least you have pockets, I had to sell mine on internet auction site just so I could buy groceries.
I like those blueprints, high res ones would be cool just for framing.

I know I may get blasted for this:
But: are they STILL making the Bulldog in two parts, and in Plastic?
And are the side covers still Plastic??
And are they still inserting nuts into the model? (My metal is hard enought to be drilled and threaded as was the real prop)
All the new details are nice, details I just added or corrected on my model making it the propsummet limited version and all models to follow the 2010 version.
I personally feel that as I mold off the real guns, and use a one piece Bulldog frame, ETC. my model it more accurate and at a much lower price.

As far as I recall Rich there is a legal issue surrounding the way the Bulldog is manufactured there and there is also a limitation on the use of Metal in replica firearms - thus they have been forced to use plastic in some places and in the way the bulldog is assembled. This I believe makes it legal..
While I agree that your PKD is built up 'like the real thing' as far as the metal goes, I think even you would be hard pressed to say that this blaster is anything but brilliant. Not only is it a terrific looking and accurate model, but its astonishingly clean lines and smooth surfaces make it a pristine blaster that few others (if any) can match..
Regards

I agree and for that price I could do as well.
I am aware of the legal issues. (So glad I live in the wild USA)
None the less I can cast the Bulldog in plastic and in one piece. My plastic/metal can reach nearly that level of smooth finish.
And I do not have the production machines nor funding they have.
