Nice job. I would like to know, however, is it a photographic anomaly, or is the lettering on the receiver very shallow and undefined, especially in pictures 2 & 4? |

The lettering is identical to the deluxe unpainted blaster as shown, as is seen in photos five and six , it's just down to the lighting and that always is subjective -the flash tends to burn them out due to reflected light and no flash means it's to dark to see , as you'll see in photo five an six , because of the angle of view the lettering is much more visible. |

Using Pewter Black:
OK it is both easy and tricky.
Your working with a chemical.
I mix my chemical with distilled water at 50/50.
I then fill a tub big enough to hold the largest part like the receiver and the cylinder.
I then fill two more tubs with tap water. (distilled would be better, less likely of deposits when drying)
I then pour in the mixed water/chemical in tub one (no water in it..) deep enough to fully cover the parts.
So you have three tubs one with chemical and water and two with just tap water.
A ratty old towel next to the last tub is a good idea and some other clean rags.
Protective old clothing and rubber gloves and eye protection is a very good idea.
Then it is simple: dip the parts into the chemical/water mix for a few seconds, you will see it darken, let it get fairly gray
and then dip in the water in tap water tub one and then tap water tub two and then on to you rag and dry the part.
Once dry I then go outside as you will make a fine powder, where a face mask, and lightly scotchbright with a gray or white pad to remove the "fur" and to blend the color. (Steel wool will also work)
If you take too much off you can redip the part.
I then polish these parts with a metal polish called Semichrome Polish, this helps farther in lighting and blending the color and seems to provide a coating protection.
OR you can spray paint with a light coat of clear paint.
Read the label about how to dispose of the chemical or save it for later use.

OK I have been working on these models and have new instructions on how to fit the grips to the pistol grip frame on
http://s922.photobucket.com/home/racprops/allalbums in Grips and Frames part two.
This should help.
Rich
PS This is a new report, I added more this morning, so it is newer than the post I made earler and thus those that looks before today will not know of the newer notes and pictures.

It is. I've been playing with it all weekend. It still has some work to do but I'm gonna take my time to make sure it is perfect before it's done. I'm gonna add a spring to the front trigger so it can be pulled as well. I'm gonna add a spring to the cocking lever as well to keep it closed. Rich said they made it SA so the cocking lever does not stay closed and it only goeas back about half an inch. But if you loosen that little allen screw at the top rear right side you can pull the lever back as far as you want.
The more I play with this thing the more I love it. It needs a little refinement but it feels and handles like a real version of this gun would.
I'm also going to build some rifle bullets that kind of look like mini rockets.
The only way that top barrel could really work is if it was loaded in by hand one at a time. A special little rocket if you will. I really don't see how any bullet could be loaded from the light housing that we call the ammo clip. Not unless it can pass through the barrel or it's so tiny it could slip around and up the left side. My opinion only of course
Anywho my take is the .44 size special rounds in the cylinder and one at a time special rocket bullets in the top chamber
As soon as I make them up I will post them.
I was very reluctant to spend so much on this as I could buy a very nice real gun for the price. Looking at the kits I also decided to save myself a lot of grief by paying the extra to have Rich complete the build. Even when it first arrived I had some concerns.
After studying and playing with it all weekend, and studying every picture of every blaster replica made that I could find and talking to Rich a lot I am very very happy with it. The more I handle it and look at it the more I like it.
The only improvement possible is if it fired real bullets
It's just awesome and incredible.
Fits in my holster I got from Phil perfectly |

Rich,
I'm starting to collect info on all my props for records purposes. Hopefully won't be needed for 62 years. I'm 38 and aiming for 100. I've never sold anything and would only do it to save the life of a close relative. Cousins don't count. I told my wife if things go bad we may be homeless but the collection will be with us in the tent. Anywho I was wondering if you could provide specific info about this latest blaster.
I know the run has a strict limit of 50 but how many were actually made????
I have a deluxe and it's #5 so I assume the other deluxes are #1-#4
How many kits were made?????
How many full build ups were made?????
Do you think you will make the remaining going up to 50???
Do you think you will ever make another version of the blaster???
Hopefully in 62 years my 64 year old son and 62 year old daughter (They are nearly 2 and due in July now) will be going through my collection and fighting tooth and nail over everything. |

OK Here is the answers:
Q. I have a deluxe and it is #5 so I assume the other deluxes are #1- 4
The numbers are your sign up numbers from the original list. So 5 were amde as Deluxe kits, numbered #1 For Karl, # 24, and your number 5 have been shipped and two waiting to be shipped to England, # 17 and # 23.
Q. How many kits were made?????
A. 16 basic kits have gone out with two on Layaway, and one possible last one to ship making the grand total 19 Basic kits.
Q. How many full build ups were made?????
A. 3 Stepped up to full on buildups by yours truly.
Q. I know the run has a strict limit of 50 but how many were actually made????
So that is 27 in all.
The Kit part of this IS the special as I dislike doing kits…we might even not really count the three full buildups as I am doing them all the time…
Q. Do you think you will make the remaining going up to 50???
A. That depends on rather anyone wants more, I will need at least 20 orders. That leaves 23 to finish out the numbered plaque, … 50 seem like a good number, as we had already hit 30 at the time I placed the order.
Q. Do you think you will ever make another version of the blaster???
NO.
This has got all the detailing that we never knew about until both sets of pictures came to light: Karl Tate’s set covered about 85% and the ones taken at the auction completed the job by showing us inside the chamber and the real shape of the cutouts on the left side of the Steyr Receiver and the serial numbers on the Cocking Lever and on the Bulldog.
Thanks to all of you here on this board with so many orders I was able to take the time and spend the money to make all the upgrades to this model.
You guys got the honor of receving the frist run of these new models.
A few refinements in fit and finish and casting may happen but no real changes are even considered, the only place I do not know of is the inside of the ammo housing and the clip. And that would not change anything.
We have seen everything else.
At long last I can just make them.
I do plan on making them as the 2010 CS&T Model 2010 Version as long as I have sales and can still make props, or I win the Lotto, which ever comes first.

Stop me if I'm wrong, but weapon stamping is not of the same quality as money stamping. Sure it's a machine that does the work (as you can see on the pic: the 3 stamps on the left, as well as the lower middle one, is reproduced exactly on the right of the weapon including the "dip" of the middle stamp). Never saw "perfectly" stamped weapon. |

Weapons stamping is done at several different times during production, and I also believe also partially done outside the shop for the import/export stamps.
