I've just returned from picking up a set of Deluxe Chess Pieces from Rick. It is difficult to describe how truly outstanding these pieces are! The set is a work of art! The sculpting is just immaculate, very detailed and crisp. Each feather is sharply delineated and details like the chain on the king and the gauntlet on which the knight is standing are spectacular. The casting and paint finish are also first rate.

Even though I was picking up the set in person, Rick carefully packing each piece in it's own little box, each marked on the end with the appropriate Kanji character. In turn these were all packed in a wonderful cardboard box adorned with stamped graphics and labels in various languages. Even a shipping label for J.F. Sebastian, The Bradbury 304, Sector 9, Los Angeles, N. America. The box makes a nice prop in it's own right and just goes to show the level of care Rick put into this project!

Rick's set is a "must have" for any Blade Runner fan or for anyone that likes chess, or birds.

I also got to see and hold Rick's "Enforcer" blaster.Wow!I can't wait for this to become available. The pictures are cool, the actual piece is... word's fail me!

The gun is the same one he's got on his site. It's just sooooo more impressive in person!

DaveG is correct - everything, from the detailed sculpts down to the distressed stamps on the outer box is impressive. It's been said that presentation is everything . . .
Very impressive!

I've always looked forward to anything Rick creates.

the enforcer is amazing!!! Please excuse this noob question, Is the enforcer supposed to be gaffs or is it supposed to be a idealized version of what he might carry? I dont remember seeing it in the movie. Looks beautiful either way, Anything from that world is always a welcome sight. Can't wait till those beauties are finished!

Thank you, Dave!

It was a pleasure meeting you on Sunday. I'm happy to hear that you like your set. These things are such a pain to make, but I really enjoy making them. It means a lot to me that all of you appreciate my efforts.

Sincerely,
Rick

Thank you, Nexus!

I am working on it now. It's actually my vision for Zhora's gun - a "Kick-Murder-Squad" assassin's device.

I am redesigning a few elements in Rhino in order to tighten up the overall piece. What you see in the Enforcer pics is basically a "kit-bash" of my Snub and other greeblies. I want to fix a few things before I offer it in kit and built-up form.

I hope to have it finished very soon.

Sincerely,
Rick
