My memory is vague about that type of lamp: I'll call it "Safari Lamp" I believe the base of the lamp could be made with the foot of an animal (elephant was the rage at the time, maybe early 1900).
Being Belgian I remember a store in Brussels that was selling all kind of furniture made from these poor animal's foot or hide and tusks of course (Congo was one of our colony, something that make me ashamed of being Belgian).
Beside that, it could be also North American: it's possible that one of the pic on the shade is of a hunter near a dead buffalo?
I'm sure that others have better info...hopefully. |

I split this into it's own topic since it had nothing to do with Deckard's apartment. I think we may have another thread about it somewhere too.
The Photo style lampshades seem to be a turn of the 20th century to mid century style item (could also be Victorian) along with the safari theme and maybe related to the popularity of Hemingway. The Second life ones has similarity to the shade, but only barely.
This is a fun topic I would like to see get its own thread and more research done on it, even if it is only one of a kind.
