Yes! I took the black off of mine down to the silver zinc that is underneath it...the metal is actually Zinc...I used super fine steel wool after using 600 grit sandpaper then 1000 grit to get the scratches off...I blued the zinc using Birchwood Casey gun bluing kit...but it came out a bit dark so I'm actually going to sand it down again and reblue it again in hopes it will turn out closer yo the original.. if not then I might strip it down again and leave it as is..the zinc darkens up on its own after a bit with tarnish...it looks pretty cool...also, Ozewepie on the forum here makes some Off World metal part upgrades that I would suggest as well...all in all, the Off World is a good cosplay piece and is EASILY modified to be closer to the real prop...I suggest you also check out the Tomenosuke grip thread and sign up for a set...for I think $50-60 you'll get in line for a set that I'm hoping will fit my Off World and make it that much closer to the real deal at first glance! So far, everyone who sees mine thinks I'm going to get shot carrying it around it looks and feels so real!? Cheers and have fun with it...its basically an adult toy!!!! |

IF Tomenosuke grips are the same size as Coyle grips, they will probably fit IF you also replace the outer grip frame along with the but plate and trigger guard.
This works with an OffWorld/Coyle but you need to modify the OFW and
Coyle parts slightly. I have a post on this on pg. 2 of this thread.

hope this helps.
ps. to de-anodize OFW parts all you need is some 150 grt. sand paper and elbow grease.
Just bear in mind they are Zinc and WILL tarnish. You can slow this down if you seal them with any gloss clear coat after you sand and polish them. _________________ "No choice pal,..."

Hey thanks guys. your links and help are very much appreciated. I'm going to dive head first into getting a more accurate blaster. but theirs one small project I have to ether conquer or admit defeat on first.
Has anyone ever checked on having a charter arms .44 bulldog 3D printed? and could anybody tell me the width of a move accurate grip frame.
Id'e like to cut one out of aluminum just to play around with....
And again guys thanks for all the help and advice. Iv'e had the blaster bug for awhile. but I think I's about to go into an obsession. LOL |
