Hmmm....
It means we could have a 'hero-stunt' version with my new amber grips, maybe....
The moulding does look very, er... hobby-level. I don't think I've ever seen that many keys on a rubber mould
I agree with Dave, I would have thought a gang mould would be in order.
It could be we're looking at a test or prototype mould. Don't know.

TFS with us The molding stage is rather...low-key as many of you have said already. If the price is right, I might finally be able to get one. |

After ready through the very odd Google Translation, It sounds like this mold is being done to produce the master that's going to the "factory for mass production" and that it will use "real grips and laser sight". I assume that means they will send a real set of grips and the aluminum sight rod to be used as patterns.
Maybe they'll get the grip color right? _________________ Dave

I see. So we were right, they are moulding the master.
That makes more sense,.
I wonder if they are using multiple pulls from this 1st generation mould as masters for the run, or this master is sent to the factory and remoulded for there for gang moulds.
The compound shrinkage could be quite noticeable, especially in gun rubber.

They also removed the Housing to barrel bolt and cover.

They are working the bugs out. Look @ photo#13. they have tagged all
the issues. So they know where it needs improvement.
Also says something about pressure.
But even my buddy's english isn't so great. LoL
Personally I don't know much about this type process. But he says,
"they are determining efficient penetration points."
I think by "penetration" they mean, where to pump in the rubber?
....no pun intended.
"When the "cast" (I believe that means the gun?) is free of void. Aluminum
production can begin".
I'll ask him about the sight post. He didn't mention it.
We should start a poll to try & guess the price point? I'm going w/ $300. _________________ Que la Force soit avec toi |

The mention of pressure might refer either to pressure casting the resin to remove (shrink) the bubbles or pressure injecting the rubber for production. An Aluminum mold makes sense for a large run.
I'd guess (hope) for a cost point of around $150. _________________ Dave

That's what I was thinking. (pressure injecting the rubber)
$150. would be nice. My fingers are crossed for under $200. But I'm not
holding my breath. _________________ Que la Force soit avec toi |

No word on price yet it seems. Of course by molding all the little parts separately they kind of missed the point of the stunt. I have a feeling by doing this the price will exceed the magic $100 mark too that would make this thing sell like hot cakes. I am guessing double that, but if it goes for less than 100 I will get more than one. Just because it is actually made of rubber. I know rubber breaks down, but do want one I could maybe use in costume if I ever decide to do that again. I think it is still kind of a surrogate to owning an actual stunt from the film though, which I hope I can get one day.

Having those two parts off the main casting insures that they will get the most pulls of the mold.
The front of the ammo housing is where my stunt molds (as did the original copies of this ) FAILED.
In fact it really should help keep costs down as the prorated life of the mold should be greater thus LOWERING overall costs. (more parts out of a mold = less molds for a given number of models= lower mold costs.)
At lease that would be my way of looking at it.

It's too bad they molded them with black grips instead of piss yellow ones, i mean "amber". But I'm sure I'll still pick one up.

Well there was three versions, the stunt with the black grips, the stunt with painted grips (wood) and the Hero stunt with what appeared to have been
Hacked/cut off rubber grips and a pair of amber grips glues and screwed on.
These were really the Cop Guns, not the plastic/metal cop guns both of us have done.

Developments with another lovely Jakob Staermose design - looks like the release is imminent.
A spelling review might be in order though...
