I can't really watch my movie versions because they are all in blue-ray and I dont have a blue-ray player
The deleted scenes have some good shots. I'll try uploading some grabs later on. |

That's a good question Nick...
How accurate would you like the Bottle to be?
I could quite easily go to production on the Bottle with the information I have collected thus far but quite a few people recomended waiting until the Final Cut had come out to see if it would reveal anymore detail, and to see if anyone had anything more to contribute...
Ultimately it's about what you guy's want, so...
say the word and we'll go to production!
If Amish, Andy,Noeland or any of the other moderators feel this thread is un-necessary, by all means...remove it. I certainly don't want to waste anyone's time!

Sounded a bit like a Jewish Mother there didn't I?
No worries, post here or in one of the other BR Whiskey Bottle threads concerning observations made fron the FC.
I've got one: I had noticed from the "Rachael Bottle" pic that there is a egg-shaped label on the back of the bottle.
Now, after watching most of the disks in my new collectors set, I have noticed at least one scene (that was cut from the movie) where Deckard is sitting in his chair with the light in it and holding the Whiskey bottle...The rear label appears in this sequence to be triangular.

One thing I found interesting from the disc set was while watching the final cut with the commentary from the 'Art Dept', they mentioned putting up the modifications to the Warners New York lot set after people from the production of Annie just finished using it. I wonder if it is possible the bottle was made for Annie instead of BR? |

Sounds very feasable esspecially considering the BR people came in after the Annie people and one prop/dressing guy worked on both productions! |

OK... I've been a 'lurker' long enough.
I have also done some research on 'the bottle', but even the experts haven't seen one before. However, it is a strong possiblilty that this bottle is of EUROPEAN origin, thus why experts in american bottles get close, but no cigar. I wrote to a Bill Lindsey of a Historic Bottle website about it and here's his reply (looks like someone else also wrote to him about the same thing... someone here?):

And there in both pics of Beast's is that Diamond shaped label on the back of the bottle...it has now been figured into our label plans.

Question is, what's on that diamond label? _________________

Here you go Loyal...
It say's: "Distilled and bottled in Scotland under British Government Supervision."
I'm not really concerned about what it says though, just the shape.
I have an original coming to me from the seller of the bottle pictured that I'll use as a reference for the new labels.

When Bryant is pouring the Shots for Deckard you can see the thickness of the glass in the mouth. I am pretty sure that at least one glass 'hero' was made. The plastics would have been 'stunt' and background versions I suppose. |

Interesting, all the JW Bottles I've had have all had a big rectangular label back there instead of the diamond. Which type of JW was this off of? Gold Label? _________________

Nope...ALL the labels used in BR for the Whiskey Bottle are from J.W. Black.
They were from J.W. Bottles that were from the 50's or 60's...
And we have accounted for them all except this one:
Top as it appears at the base of the neck on any J.W. Black Bottle off the shelf.
Bottom as it appears in BR on the side of the Cap.
Anyone know anything about it? |

do we have other references of this label? I've only seen it from the left side when Bryant's holding the bottle at his desk.
it could be this label, which appears alot straighter, though I'm not entirely sure what size it is:

The angled label seems to jive with the film. I've never picked up on a "swoop". _________________ Wait; I'm having one of those things! You know; a headache with pictures? |

After lot's of consultation with my tech guy's and seeing the image's you guy's have posted of this label...I'm in complete agreement.
We had come to the conclusion that ALL the labels on the screen used bottle were real J.W.B. Labels taken off of Bottles from the 50's and or 60's...it just wouldn't make sense for them to have made ONE label for the cap from scratch in a different design.
These pics and yours seem to support this hypothesis.
And you know what this means?
All the labels for the BR Bottle are now accounted for!
Great work everybody!!!
We are also up to 43 Statements of Interest which pleases me to no end.
I was recently reminded over at RPF that ALL such sign up list's have a fall-off rate of at least 50%...strangely,
I don't think that's going to be the case with this one. I think there's just too much interest in this movie and this
bottle inparticuler for anyone that's signed up to drop out now.
I could be wrong but I don't think I am!
