Has anyone got a spare one of these? It comes from the inside of the Contempra phone. I acceidentally ruined my one Sad

This is the part as used on Fred's fine Vid-Phon. It has been cut down. Originally there are three 'blocks' with the hole and two rectangular tabs in them and each one has a brass piece clipped in place.

Oh, and it's glossy black plastic originally!

Thanks

Remember, that same piece can be find in the other "Contempra" the one with the rotary dial instead of the buttons in the hand-set.
Cheaper to buy and it's easy to find...I'll check my stuff to make sure Wink

Cutting it, changing my mind, glueing back together, cutting again, glueing... finding it out of shape and trying to heat it to unwarp it. Ended up warping way out of shape! Laughing

You'll have to remind me where in the phone you can find the piece (main body or hand-held piece)...also the rotary one is waayyy much cheaper than the button one (Cdn funds: $20).

It's in the base. It has several of the little squares with the holes and little metal in each.

I used that part for my customers finished Vidphone. It was already done so I could not open it up so I used the last phone I had.

Yeah, I know. But I don't want another phone, I only want that one detail part so it's not worth paying $30-$40 (including shipping) for it! Laughing

Alright folks, I'll need some advice here about the way to open that phone...I cannot, for the life of me, see any screws Confused it as if somebody installed rivets or something Evil or Very Mad (the one I have is the Nothern Electric)

The Nothern Bell has only 2 screw to keep the cover in place (if my memory serves me well) and that one was sold a long time ago Crying or Very sad

There are two black plastic tabs in the corners through the square holes. You just press them in and towards the front of the phone with a screwdriver to unclip them while you prize the black cover off, one at a time.

It is a little tricky mind you!

It's a negative KB Confused I failed to see any of those bits inside the body of my Contempra...I think that mine is of another model (Nothern Electric 1979). Maybe somebody could confirm is that piece belong to a Nothern Bell and ''younger" (1980-81).

Lemme take a pic and you'll see what I mean.
Later Wink

I too thought it wasn't in my phone because it looks quite different and I didn't see it at first because as far as I remember you have to remove some other part before you get to it. I basically gutted the phone out removing everything that is not used by the keypad or seen!

It's in the base. I think he just meant he took out everything but the keypad out of both.

I took both apart just to be sure.
